Steve Johnson has to be the play Saturday +150 over Kevin Anderson

Johnson did beat Tommy Haas here and Lopez (who looked very subdued). He does have a good game and last night watching him against Lopez, everytime Lopez attacked the net, Johnson had the balls to go for some tough passing shots.

I think it will be a close game. Not sure how well Johnson will handle the Anderson serve though.

Johnson would be my play.

I was looking into this game that's why i came here to see what's going on. I'm going to take Johnson. Anderson pulled a fking miracle last night for all of us, but you're right against Johnson who is very decent and at decent odds I'm going to fade faderson.

Bear in mind whilst Johnson has demonstrated good form, if Anderson brings his A-game the match is only going to go one way.

I had Anderson yesterday and he definitely played bad enough to get beat. I don't like you being on Anderson but I'm gonna go with the price here on a the kid who already beat him this month, fk it.

I don't think the match in January has much bearing on this one. Anderson was suffering from a virus to start the season, caused him to miss the Brisbane tournament the week prior to Auckland. That made the match against Johnson his 1st of the season.

Granted I don't have a great feel on Johnson this week. I did think if a qualifier was going to run the table that Johnson or Williams had a shot if given the right draw. His draw looked tough, but Lopez looked thoroughly disinterested yesterday and I'm not sure a win over Haas is going to be a highlight by the end of the year.

I have been a fan of Johnson, but he has not really shown a ton of progress in his game the last year or so. He looked to be a breakout candidate after his nice US Open run in 2012 and the match against Almagro at the Aussie Open in 2013. But he really leveled off last year.

Kevin Anderson actually resides in Delray Beach, so it is essentially a "home" game for him. He has also won this tournament before, so there is a definite comfort level for him there. On the surface Johnson seems like a good play, but I am going to pass. Nerves could be a factor for Steve.

i grabbed an Anderson future several days ago at +1026...

if the beanpole makes it to the finals i'd have to hedge there, just to keep my sanity...
if i nervous-nellie this match too, i'll just end up hedging twice, doubling on the insurance premium...

fuk it...most sensible thing for me to do is watch episodes 2 and 3 of True Detective and let my Anderson position fly without a net... and THEN check the scoreboard

BTW, if i didn't have this futures play clouding my thinking right now, and this were a stand-alone play...it'd be Stevey at this pricey

I felt like I was lucky yesterday having Anderson. He's crispy as fukk today. Not to mention Johnson looks awful.

Hes healthy again.with some confidence back he's now playing good tennis. Not great, but much better than last year.

of the three acromegaliacs (Karlovic, Isner, and Anderson)...Anderson is the one most capable of playing something that looks like tennis once the ball has gone over the net 3 times...the most mobile/athletic of the three once an actual contested-rally gets going (followed closely by Isner...both miles ahead of Karlovic who is little beyond a big-serve/fat-forehand bot)

a few inches below these three we have two top-tier guys that play full-featured tennis (Berdych and Cilic)...picture Dodi Sela being allowed to serve off a barber's chair, then jump down to finish the point...

particularly with Isner's current generally-stiff condition, Cilic is correctly heavily-favored tonight....their last 3 H2H's (3-0, all straight sets, on three different surfaces) are revealing...tall full-dimensional tennis player vs. ridiculously-tall big-hitter of set-up shots...the real tennis player wins at least as often as the -200 indicates
