Oddsmakers underestimate once your down 3-0 H2H in WTA how tough it is to beat that person. Pironkova has been in good form but she was in even better form when Vinci last beat her. That slice and non-ball basher game gives her trouble, as when she was creamed by Stosur in AO.

She was worn out and injured by the time she ran into Stosur at the AO after winning Sydney. Not an accurate gauge of her abilities at all. The match is playing out roughly as expected, with Pironkova leading, but Vinci making it tough on her. Vinci is hitting her dropshots when she can, but Pironkova is still striking the ball too well for Vinci to rely solely on that light touch.

However, now down a set, Vinci at +300 for the match isn't a terrible bet.

Agreed, pironkova was an easy choice. It almost seems that Vinci has decided to concentrate on being a better coach and doubles partner for Errani
