#2This sounds a pretty dumb strategy, although it would be interesting to know how it performs if you backtest it.Comment -

#8I don't get it, you said you take the better rank with +games, I don't see Janowicz with + games , either Stosur?!Comment -

#9No... I take the better player. If it is a ML less than -200 Ill take the ML or - spread if its somewhat low and the ranking is pretty far apart.. If the better player is the underdog, Ill take them at + spread.
just saying I bet blindly based on rankings.Comment -

#10Exactly. Why did you choose Stosur who is -200 fav ? I thought you were selecting higher-ranked dogs. Also, can you define cleaning up; is it 5-2 or 25-14 ? In other words is your winning record statistically significant ?Comment -

#11Stosur was alot better rank than her opponent as she just won. SOrry I should of re wrote my first post. I always take the better rank player. Anything -200 or less I can afford to lay on the ML. If they are the fav. But if better rank and higher than -200 ML ill take the spread if its reasonable and there is a big difference between ranks. If the better ranked player is the underdog, I always jump on them at the + spread.Comment -

#13Still not clear how you judge what is the "reasonable spread" to take, how you define the big difference in rankings, etc. Anyway, good luck to you.Comment -

#21Janowicz is about to screw you on the spread line. You're basically toast , now that he lost the first set 6-1. Almost impossible to make that up on a -4.5 spread.
Just fyi, your strategy is basically what 75% of squares do.....put too much stock in the rankings. This is how books clean up on noobs. Rankings should be one of the last things you look at. There's a lot of other factors much stronger than rankings.Comment -
