Will take Federer. The variety in his game vs Hewitt who seems old and kinda worn down. Not that Jewitt has nothing left (he obviously does) but I think Fed takes it.

I agree with both your points, for me to make an assesment myself I need to wait for the highlights reel of hewitt vs nishi on youtube... was asleep until the last set at 2-0 up hewitt, where kori tanked due to that cramp.

If anyone finds the highlights, or knows of the Australian site that has them, please link them to me in here, thanks.

It was over 40 celcius today. That had nishikori doomed for the get go. Nishikori is the worst hot weather player in the top 50 for sure. Not sure why. Remember hewitt is used to this weather same with Rodger. Nishikori wins vs hewitt on a 20 celcius day no prob. Your pick wasn't wrong. You got fcked by the super hot weather. First day like this all week

              Thanks.

Chardy's forehand was on as well. We all know the frenchman is a hit or miss player and can be trouble for anyone, when he's firing. Requires some serious Djokovic/Murray/Nadal "movement" to deal with his forehand and keep rallies alive. Federer doesn't have that, not defensively equipped enough with. So chardy was able to win a set. It is true to say Chardy imploded to lose the second set though and get broken at 4-3........

I am currently contemplating the Hewitt win, as I feel he is currently closer to where he was back in 2003-2007 than Federer is and even back then, Federer would need 4 sets or 5 sets in grandslams to oust him. Hewitt's an intelligent player, so I don't feel he'll be undone by any variety and Federer no long has, no longer has the confidence and lack of doubt within side himself to play with as much flair and creaitivity as he used to, on the big moments and big points.

Desire, will to win, inspired to win, crowd will help him, TOOOO WIIIN!

Closer to the player he was between 2000-2006 than Federer is the player he was between 2004 and 2010... and they had relatively close battles back then. Hewitt will pepper the backhand and draw errors, smart player, allcourt player. Will do it, trust me.

Watched the video back twice now against Nishi. Nishi did cramp, but Hewitt was still at quite a good level.

Hewitt to get a set @2.5 (7 units)

Hewitt to beat Federer @5.00 (3 units)

lol Hewitt isn't intimidating? Have you lost your marbles. The one thing Hewitt is more than anything is in your face and intimidating.

Federer's played him enough times not to be intimidated though, but still...... he is exactly what you say he isn't. Bloody ironic! lol

Oh don't you worry, Fungus Gambler has assigned me it a mission to make a mockery of his "assertions" regarding my expertise. I'm definitely here for a season, at the very least! I have saved his posts with screenshots, let's see if he apologises when he realises how much of a twit he's looked.

Ofcourse. Forget the obvious striking facts about HEwitt's achievements. Forget he beat Pete Sampras close to his peak at the US Open in straight sets, forget he won the greatest tournament in the world in Wimbledon, forget he spent over a year at world number 1, forget he won 2 world tour finals titles, forget he won 2 masters series titles and forget he won the Davis Cup with Australia.
