You can plainly see he is just about there with competing with the big boys from the US Open and today's match.Just a step away from winning Masters and getting to Major finals.Obviously he is primed for a big year coming up.I think betting a unit on every tourney he plays in would be profitable. He only has 1 win this year and you could say this was his best year ever.Surely possible to get 5 or 6 wins next year and make 2 semis of majors.Would this be a good strategy?

You realize wawrinka is 28? This will probably be his best year of tennis. Delpo if injury free is the guy to join Murray nadal djokovic so if you like a roughy for tourneys then back delpo

See 2nd set vs. Nadal as the reason why I would not bet on him.

While you do have a somewhat fair point, wasn't the 2:nd set much more the result of Nadal than Wawrinka?

nadal dominated him throughout the match, controlled it, he might be able to scratch top 3-5..and i doubt that

We'll see if his dedication stays for a complete year. He certainly had his moments in 2013, but he also had a poor stretch between Wimbledon & the US Open when you would have expected him to have some success on hard courts.

You clearly don't get it. My point is nothing happened to Wawrinka; it happened to Nadal.

Good point...Surprised his motivation was not better considering his success this year. Its all mental with him...

I got it, and I do not agree with you ... Nadals game did not change at all in the second set ... Wawrinka lost his focus after losing the TB and the 2 break points in the first game of the sec set

It didn't change much, but it got a lot better. Sicker shots, smaller margins, fewer errors.

C'mon Lou. You know as well as anyone that Murray is a factor. Guy did more this year with a balky back than 90% of the ATP tour does healthy.
