Sharapova Fires Connors After One Match

That was fast.

Just 34 days after hiring Jimmy Connors as her coach, Maria Sharapova fired the tennis legend after losing to Sloane Stephens in three sets Tuesday in Cincinnati.



Connors tweeted after the loss that "Every good round starts with a bogey -- not the start we wanted, so back to work tomorrow."




But there will be no tomorrow for the popular pairing of Sharapova, currently ranked No. 3 in the world rankings, and the eight-time major winner on the men's side.



Sharapova is expected to enter play at the upcoming U.S. Open without a coach.



Connors coached Andy Roddick for two years before resigning in 2008. He briefly worked with Sharapova before the 2008 Australian Open.

Scenario 1: Po'Po refuses to take any responsibility so the bitch blames a far superior man – whom cannot possibly be held responsible having not even been given a chance – for her shortcomings. Scenario 2: Po'Po really doesn't get along well with Connors or feels his advice or style of coaching truly won't work for her game, or Connors has somehow been a dick to her in the past month.

It was a dumb move to begin with. Sharapova doesn't take direction through criticism like Connors delivers. she wouldn't beat Serena with or without him. Now she burned a bridge with her previous coach who was a good fit with her.
