Roddick has played quite well lately actually, almost too well. I think it's easy to forget, especially from looking at this line, how one dimensional he can be if he's not returning well and his opponents are holding serve. He also holds a 9-0 H2H against Tommy, which can be a bit disconcerting at first but they've only played twice in the last 4 years.

Roddick has had flashes of greatness this tournament but if Robredo can stick to his guns, Roddick is not much more than a one trick pony, I'll take my chances at this incredible price that his serve will not be flawless and hope for a 76 64 67 75 outcome. This is still a surface that benefit Robredo's game as much as it does Andy's, and in fact Andy's game is better suited to the courts of US Open than down under in Australia.

Not that I would tout taking Roddick at the price, but even though the price is "good" on Robredo, that seems like a wasted choice to me. A-Rod has beaten him on every surface. Not that Robredo isn't fully capable if Roddick has an off day, but you could say the same for anyone. This is another one where I think A-Rod has too much power, even though Robredo should give him a run in at least one set.

I'm rooting for Marcos. Again another match that I won't get to see though because it's the late one and I shall be asleep by then. There's going to be a moderate upset somewhere in the 4th round I think. I really hope it's Baghdatis. I think Baghdatis, Cilic or Blake has a shot to be that surprise in this round. Just a feeling I had going into this thing.

DelPot takes 2nd set. He was really passive till midway through this set, but then got annoyed at something and it's woken him up. Now the aggression is there, the deep flat shots are coming out, and Cilic is struggling - doesn't have time to get his swing in place, and he's not that good at half-volleying low flat hits near the baseline.

Strangely enough for two 6'6 guys, serve isn't playing much of a part in the game. Cilic has the better serve normally, but was at 32% in the first set. Went up to 60% in the 2nd, and he lost that - this pretty much reflects that the game is a baseline slugfest most of the time.

Cilic has a miles superior winners:UEs ratio here, but somehow the match is dead level. That's probably cos of DelPot's superior matchplay instinct at this stage in their developments - he plays the big points more efficiently.

Yeah, agreed - he just has more in most aspects of the game, at least at present. In particular he's better on the defence, and at returning. Cilic only has a clear advantage in serve, and that's not working today.
