Head to head is surprising but Hewitt is known as one of the best returners in the game. Still I believe the match is on John's racket considering his form this week. He served well against Blake and his forehand was much improved compared to his previous match, but he will need to get close to 70% first serves in to win I feel.

You never know with Hewitt though, he will be able to put pressure on the Isner serve with his returns and there is no question who has the better ground strokes (aside from the Isner forehand) but he will need to be consistent enough on serve to win.

I personally am leaving this match well alone as Hewitt is one of the few players I tend to avoid betting against.

I am never playing an Isner match again. I can never gauge this guy! Gun to my head Hewitt. So Isner probably wins

I like Isner on a hard court in the Atlanta humidity, but it's actually supposed to be in the upper 70s, and it could possibly rain at some point. Line and conditions say Hewitt, but I'll probably take Isner straight up because he plays his best in the States.

Hewitt took him out in a good one at Newport FWIW, so the over might not be a bad play. If the match is delayed or suspended, I won't feel great about taking Isner. I honestly should just hold off and place a live bet after watching a few games or a set.

I like Hewitt in this spot. Should Isner lose a set, I prefer Hewitt's mental strength and experience of winning from behind. Isner folds like a tent and his first serve goes to shit once he's behind in a match. Plus Hewitt is inside his head with the 5-1 head to head record against Isner.

That first paragraph doesn't make any sense to me. You like Isner because it's humid; but because it's cold, damp and rainy (even more humid) the conditions say Hewitt!?? Or is Atlanta humidity low?

Isner has been barely winning his matches. Hewitt took down a decent server in dodig already. @ + odds i would think its hewitt or nothing

To be serious for a second tho, i believe the reall upset is in Harrisons hands. Harrison has played some close matches with isner, and isners serve is larger than andersons. Anderson has ben in decent form but nothing too crazy. Ebden played a tight set vs anderson early in the tourney

I see what you're getting at, but I meant that the rain and cloud cover will produce a lower temperature, so the humidity won't be as big of a factor. Obviously, a humid and sunny day in the 90s will be tougher to handle than a humid and damp day in the 70s ... which is why I believe the conditions favor Hewitt.

Trying to predict the weather is pointless for me, though. The sun could come out and heat everything up by the time they start the match. I don't think they're dealing with anything more than small summer showers.

I don't usually put too much weight on head to head records but I think it will help Hewitt's confidence tremendously should this go into a 3rd set. These days I don't bet on Isner much anymore. I just try to find spots to fade him. I just cant put money on a guy with a poor return game like that. Sure , he has the best serve the game has seen this decade but serves only make up half the story of a winning match.

Good returners and defense win matches imo......good luck.

Far from it dude. Hewitt just broke Isner. Watch Isner fold like a beeeayatch this set.
