    Wow !!

I just checked out the score and saw he lost in 5 sets.

Dumb fvk was up 2-1 and let 2 straight sets fall and hit him in the arse.

What the hell happen, did he not have enough strength to finish up the game?

This was for sure a big dog ... hope someone faded him and cashed big!

ESPN showed some of the match. I watched before I went to sleep last night. Nalbandian looked totally uncomfortable with Lu's style because Lu basically kept exchanging shots and let Nalbandian beat himself. LU didn't play poorly by any means, but I think Nalbandian really beat himself by getting frustrated.

... Typical Nalbandian. He gets angry at himself and loses. What a freaking moron.

Wannabet ... I guess your on the same boat we were.

Its a shame none of us faded this guy ... I was waiting for next round to fade ... guess I was to slow.

Yeah. The announcers had a good point that I need to keep in mind for next year because I did have Nalbandian as a minor futures play - players who win in Sydney, don't win the Australian Open.

No. But the point made was the guy who wins Sydney basically has one day of practice in Melbourne because of when the Sydney tourney ends, so very little time to adjust to the different speed of the surface. Nalbandian wasn't exactly awesome in the 1st round either, so I think the theory is one to watch. They also mentioned that James Blake had the same thoughts because he skipped Sydney last year after winning it a year or two earlier. Result - he had his best run in Melbourne because of extra practice time. He also skipped Sydney this year.

Imagine the consequences this might have, if all tennis players that have a chance at the Aussie Open understand this, and simply avoid the Sydney tourney.

They would either have to move it or close the shop.

Shark, I am not betting, just fading the forum here. I am hoping to have funds available by the time the quarter finals roll around. Then, I can make my real cash money.

Lu is a decent pro - beat Murray at the Olympics (questionable motivation for Murray there, but still).

Nalbandian must have realised the pie shop was closing early, and wanted off court quick. The useless fat ****.

                        Yeah cost me big time.

                        Went from +10 to -5.

This was one bet that i debated cause he tends to play down to his competition like when Dancevic crushed him at Wimbledon. But i thought who the f is Lu? Forgot he beat Murray in Beijing.

Its always nice to see a liberal democrat bet on a huge money line favorite and lose.

He cost me a fair bit last year, and don't think I've touched him since (on my blacklist with chokers like Mathieu, Melzer, Gasquet and co). Simply too unreliable, and his lack of fitness in this heat was always going to cause problems at some stage.

Shame, because he has the returns to beat Roddick, and on form can beat anyone. If he'd got himself fit, and conserved enough energy in early rounds, it could have been a good tournament for him.

Looking a year back in time....

Nalbandian goes into Aussie Open after a ridiculously good end year to 2007, winning Paris and Madrid, massacring Nadal twice, Federer twice, and Dkokovic. In retrospect, with Federer off form, this was Nalbandian's best ever chance at a slam.

What happens? The useless tool loses to Ferrero in the 3rd round. Would have been Ferrer after that, then Djoko, then Fed, then Tsonga. If fit, these are players he had the form to beat.

Unfortunately, when not cosseted by air conditioned indoor courts, he can't cope.

Get off the donuts ... simple as that.

Dont get me wrong ... the guy is good ... and as HeeHaww puts out ... he has the capability of returning serves to guys like Roddick and Karlovic. But he is not fit to go 5 sets.

I watched most of this match.Nalbandian played like shit and wasn't really into the match at all.He also had so many chances to break but never could come through with them.I don't know why he always gets knocked out early in the major's. Maybe its because of the best of five sets taking its toll on him.I don't know.
All I know is that Nalbandian at -1000 or worse is never a good play.
With that being said, if Lu plays someone that is actually playing well in his next match, it will be an easy win for them. This Lu guy is not really good just had a well played match.Fat Dave was there for the taking just like any other major he is in

Its simple .... this guy is good for 3 sets ... nothing else. If you manage to take him for a set .... he sinks and folds.
