Anyone else think it was strange that Djokovic could not put an overhead away for a winner???? Like a lot..... Even at big points, the dude could not hit an overhead to win a point, he just kept hitting right back to where Murray would just stand waiting for Joker to pound the other side of the court. If you think of this purely as a fan of the game in general, then I see your point. But this day - and perhaps this tournament - was all about supporting a player in particular and not going to the stadium to appreciate a nice match. It's called support. It may go a bit overboard at times, but that's just the way things are.

Maybe I'm saying this because I also follow sports like soccer and basketball very closely where the whole approach to attending a game is completely different. If I were a 100% tennis fan maybe I'd think like you.

In fact, I think the crowd aren't supportive enough. I think the crowd should be dead silent everytime the opponent wins a point. But that's just me.

Watch Davis cup in any country and you will see much worse.
Double faults for opponents are cheered like championship wins, there is drums, horns the lot.
It's a home crowd for Murray basically, in a country who hasn't seen a home champion in the majority of the crowds lifetime. Nothing to moan about really.

I remember in the US open, the way Connors was cheered against Lendl. Just as bad. Evert against Navratilova - same. Any player that is popular in their home country will be cheered like the home team is in any sport.
