ferrer over del potro a trap?

i dont see a thread on this yet (moar threads), but ferrer at 1.69 odds seems pretty nice for a guy that leads the h2h 6-2 including the last 4 matches they've played.. and 2 matches on grass. also concerns with del po's knee even though he easily raped today.

not sure if a lot of money is coming in on del potro, but what up with this line? on point or no? seems like ferrer should be a bigger favorite here.

FWIW, i'm going with Delpo in 4 and Ferrer in 5.

What did you expect the line to be? Last year Ferrer was around +140 in the same match-up, so him being the favorite now seems pretty spot on. Considering he has been pushed in both his last matches and Del Potro as mentioned has cruised - I don't see the squabble with the price.

Look for news on delpo's injury, if nothing I like him. The gritty performance today was good enough for me to pick him +EV over Ferrer.

Main reasoning for Delpo in 4 is that Ferrer has struggled massively against big servers at Wimbledon so far. Given that Delpo has a much more consistent big serve than his previous opponents, I can't see how he can withstand the barrage if Delpo doesn't f up.

But if Delpo does f up, Ferrer definitely has the tenacity, consistency and stamina to take the decider.

3-1 Delpo @ 5.50 - 1.5 units
3-2 Ferrer @ 6.00 - 1.5 units

Ferrer the tougher draw to get here, IMO. And tide may be turning, Ferrer finished Dodig -1 and -1.

Footage after DelPo's match showed him limping into his hotel. Even if its mildly injured, who wouldn't you rather play with knee problems than Ferrer? And 4-0 since Dec. '11 says...

I just figured a guy with ferrer's h2h against potro, who is injured.. would be a bigger fav here..
Im not sure the odds in a match 360 days ago would really affect the rematch odds this year. and in the end, ferrer raped del po hard with no lube in that match last year when del po was healthy (6-3, 6-2, 6-3)

Del Potro hasn't really looked injured in his last match. Remember ferrer also hurt his ankle a few matches ago as well.
