    Question about spread and totals
Im looking at Djokovic at -8.5 and the OU at 29.5. These together confuse me. Im assuming the spread of 8.5 means the oddsmakers predict 6-3 6-3 6-3 but with the OU at 29.5 thats 2.5 pts over the predicted total using the 6-3 6-3 6-3.

Im new to tennis, so could someone explain why someone would bet djokovic -8.5 when it seems to me that u29.5 would make more sense if they expect him to win by 8-9 pts?

    Certainly.

The score could be Djokobo 6-0 6-0 6-7 6-0, for instance, which would cover both the over and Djokobo spread.

It's more complex than that. The above scenario you mentioned is an "ideal" situation. We all know ideal situations get busted all the time in tennis and you may get a 7-6 or 7-5 on one of the sets. If one of the sets reach a tiebreak or 7-5, the UNDER is in danger even if Djokovic straight sets him. There's a variety of different scenarios that can happen which is why books offer both lines.
