My thoughts on this tournament:
The Sony Open was overall a lackadaisical performance except for Ferrer. Perhaps everyone was spent from Indian Wells because it didnt have anywhere near the energy. I actually thought the tiebreak set from Murray/Gasquet was the best tennis of the tournament. Of course Gasquet tired out on the last sets but he's shown a lot of maturity in his game during this tournament.
Nothing much can be said of Ferrer. We all knew he wasn't going to give up this match easily and will come out with the toughness of a crocodile in every match he plays. The only tragic truth for all Ferrer fans( myself included) is that the spaniard just cannot generate enough pace to overcome any of the big four during big matches. He'll take a set and set the bar that he's coming out fighting but in the end the big fours will step it up when needed and eventually prevail against the spaniard. I can see Ferrer doing the same at the French Open. Make no mistake, he will get deep at Roland Garros. I just can't picture him prevailing over Nadal. Heck, my darkhorse to go deep will be Almagro and I can see revenge on the mind of Almagro should these two meet at the French Open.
The important aspect is we nailed the win and will have extra bankroll money for the French. Don't forget baseball season starts tonight and baseball is my second passion.

Agreed. Moreover, condolences to all that backed Ferrer. I placed a small bet in early third but I'm more concerned about true backers and not just live turncoats.
If you believe the problem for Ferrer against Murray in this particular match was the inability to create pace, however, I think you're dead wrong.
Murray suffered heat stroke, alright. That kid has one messed up mind.
