Found the analysis below, sounds legit. I think I'm going to put some money on Tsurenko at +325. Thoughts?
- Petra Kvitova (#7) is one of the best attacking players in the women's game. Put here on a slower court though and her lack of consistency becomes a real problem.
- On current form you wouldn't bet against her but let's not forget how poor she was against Laura Robson in the Australian Open.
- In 4 previous visits to Indian Wells, Kvitova has failed to get beyond this round. In the last two seasons she has suffered shock defeats to Christina McHale (#35) and Zahlavova Strycova (#59).
- In Round 1 she had an easy draw against Govortsova (#67) but needed 2 hours and 20 minutes to scrape through in 3 tight sets.
- Tsurenko (#74) has been in fine form and has already won 4 matches this week.
- She came through qualifying and then easily dispatched Morita (#52) 61 62 in the 1st Round.
- That was followed up with a fine win over Shvedova (#34) beating the number 32 seed 61 36 61.
- She also caused a shock in the Australian Open when she beat Pavlyuchenkova (#23) in the 1st Round.
