    1.3.12: I Spy
Bustin' out the gates for the early morning starts.

    ATP Hopman Cup: Tomic -145
So the question will be .. how much was Tomic's win over Djokovic about Tomic's execution and play vs. Djokovic's apparent lack of "want to" against the Australian. All reports indicate Djokovic did not play with a ton of energy and fire, but Tomic to his credit went out and took what he was given. Tomic spent a lot of time training for this early part of the season. He has worked on his body to add more power/fitness and has worked on his serve to add more variety. Early at least, that appears to be paying dividends as he has looked focused at this event. This will be a good test against the veteran Seppi who certainly won't roll over. I think even in an exhibition like this, this can be a grand moment for Tomic in his development. Following up a win over one of the Big Four is never easy - if he truly is dedicated to improving his game mentally to pair up with his improved physicality .. this is the spot to show it. Squeeze away.

*Yay, my first time putting the wrong year in the dateline.

      ATP Chennai: Sela +125
Not a lot of time to write-up here. They played last year @ Chennai with Sela winning in three. This is still a "green" surface for Paire who has a losing record on hard courts. Sela is a wiley vet. Both won their openers. I think Paire is getting the respect on price solely from his ranking. He's a solid player, but Sela could trouble him some and has normally started well in this tournament. Worth a little squeezeroo.

ATP Doha Parlay: Monfils + Davydenko (Risking 1 unit to win .54)
I was against Monfils yesterday, but he showed some heart in beating Kohlschreiber in three sets. The biggest conflict for Monfils appeared to be the umpire who warned him repeatedly in the 2nd set for taking too much time between points. Still, after sulking a little for that set - he pulled it together in the 3rd and secured the win. Brands is a tricky customer on occasion, but the surface is much more to the Frenchman's advantage. If he shows up energized & engaged - he should have enough. Went over Davydenko's health yesterday and he showed strong against Youzhny in winning in straights. Bolelli has been forced to work two straight three setters. If Davydenko continues with the confident play, this is winnable.

Large fail on Sela. Large fail.

Not even sure why he stepped on the court.

Yeah he's got it turned around in the 2nd - this is why Monfils is always scary. When he is locked in and wanting to play, fukker is as good as it gets some times ... but when he's not, he blows ass.

Or not. Chump choking away a 5-2 lead in the 2nd. Wish he would have done this BS yesterday when I went against him. Meh. Back to the grind later. Brisbane matches look tasty tonight. Good match-ups.

Seriously, I don't know why I keep backing this clown after how many times he has burned me. Guy is as erratic as you can be.
