Isner beat himself. Guy was up a break in the 3rd and not only lost that, but dropped a break. He did not play well at all. His margin for error with how he plays for tie breaks mainly is so low. He would have been beaten by a lot of guys with the way he played.

Melzer is excellent on indoor surfaces - surprisingly so really since his entire year has been dog poop outside of this surface to this point. If he serves well, I do believe he will win. That was his problem in Austria last week. His serve faltered and Muller was throwing down bombs on-serve that were unbreakable. Goffin doesn't have that weapon.

Melzer doing great LoL. Thought the old TI fade would strike on one of the dogs - Granollers or Melzer. Looks like Melzer right now. Can't hold his serve for shit at this point, although it is just one set so we will see.

What happened to Melzer... I remember 2 years ago he was top 10 player and could play with anybody and now its just painful to watch him play

There's the inconsistent Mr.Goffin letting him back in. Melzer had a career year that year, but like Mardy Fish he did it when he was in his late 20s - 29 to be exact. Staying at that lever after 30 was never going to happen. You don't normally get your peak years in the sport after 30.

EaglesPhan....this is actually my first post on here but I visit this forum from time to time to see your plays...great call on Melzer...I was actually leaning Goffin initially, but your post changed my mind. Keep up the good work. I'm not sure if you are a Philadelphia Eagles fan, but I'm a Falcons fan...haha big game on Sunday.

What are your thoughts on Dimitrov? I watched some of that Davydenko/Mathieu match, and Mathieu looks in great form right now.

Mathieu's problem is putting back-2-back strong performances together. Over 22.5 seems like a good play. Lots of lazy serving and lack of rallies.

Del Potro came out flat & is paying for it by dropping the 1st set. Was okay after his 1st service game, but dropped that one @ love to open and Anderson held the whole way through.

Figured this one would have to be exciting.

I have a play on the French also. The fact that he won only 5 return points in the entire second set and still managed to break KA is impressive.

Their previous meetings were all tight, but Gasquet did that mostly - found the one break or fought him off in a TB. I liked him because he's got the motivation this week, not just playing @ home, but he's got an outside shot still to get to London next week and also finish in the Top 10 which is quite an accomplishment for him.
