Cashing canadian check

Wonder if anyone in US had cashed bank drafts from canadian bank recently and how long does it take to see fund in your account...I understand each bank has different policies..but I am from Texas and my Wells Fargo bank made me fill out a form and it's been 17 business days and counting and I still haven't seen my freaking money yet....Really tired of this BS....

I have read it can up to as many as 45 days to clear sir.

get a different bank and/or go to a check cashing place next time.

OR, better yet, one thing i used to do was find a friend who had at least the amount of the check in their account, and sign it over to them, then get them to cash it.

Funds didn't clear for 30 days when I recieved Canadian check from a sportsbook about two moths ago.

I'm going through the same thing after depositing a US cheque in my CDN account. 21 business days. At least I was locked into a great conversion rate (+25%).

its probably 99.9% dependant on your local bank's policies + your relationship with them, i've had experinces ranging from no hold at all to up to 10 business days.

Brock's right. I've read about all these long holds yet I've never experienced them at my bank. I consider myself fortunate, though waiting 10 days for a check to clear wouldn't be the end of the world.

You're probably right Brock...2 weeks before i deposited my check...i had deposited a check from WSEX and it was bounced...they turned around and charge me $15 for that....then WSEX sent me another one which is now I am waiting to cash...on top of that...the freaking canadian bank charged me $100 just to process it....and after my bank successfully cash my check...they will charge me $25 for collection handling fee...

I guess my bank is looking at me as a bad guy when it was freaking WSEX's fault...I will not ever play with WSEX again...and I don't care if people keep praising about this WSEX book...You just don't send "bad" checks to your players...PERIOD !!!
