I have accounts both places. Both sites have the option of reduced juice (-107 daily) or Promotions (Bonuses, daily promotions etc). On Sportbet I have reduced juice. On Island Casino I have Promotions.
Last night I bet Minnesota -6.5 -107 with the reduced juice option on Sportbet. 535/500 which is the online max. They immediately moved the line to Minnesota -7.5 -107.
Today is Thursday, and Thursday is the Free Half Point promotion day. On Island Casino I have the Promotion option. I took advantge of their Free Half Point on the line Northwestern +7 -105 and moved it to Northwestern +7.5 -105. Close to the same amount, 525/500. The line IMMEDIATELY was moved to Northwestern +7.5 -115.
For those who aren't following, Northwestern is at Minnesota on Saturday.
About an hour after placing the latter bet, I get an email to contact Customer Service manager Manny. After phone tag bullshit we finally are able to speak, and he tells me that these types of bets on the same game are not allowed. I said really, please direct me to where this is posted on your website. Of course, he directs me to the standard we can do anything we want rule:
9) Management reserves the right to refuse or limit any wager.
Which can be found here:
He gave me the option of keeping one of the bets, but said if I did not IMMEDIATELY cancel one of the bets that both would be cancelled. Which I basically laughed at, but I told him to cancel the latter bet, Northwestern +7.5. Then I proceeded to bitch him out because cancelling a bet because a line moves is bullshit. Also, this is the third time they have ****ed up. The first time was a check they sent me that I was told time and time again was cut from a US Bank. When I got the check it was Canadian. I got the money back but it was a giant pain in the ass to do so. The second time they screwed up was a money transfer that I was given the wrong information for. And IMO this is the third time. After I told him all this he just sat there and said nothing. So I asked him, that's it, you don't have anything to say? Then Manny, Customer Service Manager tells me "You seem like a smart guy, if you dislike us so much why don't you go somewhere else?" (paraphrasing) I told him he needs to fix his shitty customer service etc and he said "We have been operating for 13 years and we are doing just fine"
Also, it blows my mind that they are moving lines and cancelling bets for $500. In fact I have noticed that every time I make a bet the line is moving. I bet $250 on Lebron to win the MVP a couple days ago, the price moved from +280 to +270 or something like that. $250 wasn't even the max bet. Last Saturday I bet about $200 on Curlin +170 prop/future to win the race (regardless of price at the track). Immediately after I placed that bet they moved the line to +155 or something like that. A little over a week ago I placed bets on 2 different 2 team 6 point NFL teasers, at +100 each. Total amount wagered $1500. Within 5 minutes (I am not exaggerating) they changed their 2 team teaser prices to -110, -120, -130 instead of the +100, -110, -120 that they apparently have had forever... until now.
I was ready to move all my money out of there after they changed their teaser prices, but there is a pretty good reason why I am leaving some money in there, don't really want to say what it is on a public forum, just take my word for it.
All in all I'm not really upset they intimidated me into cancelling a $500 wager, if it was $5k I would obviously care a lot more, but this is still BS.
Would love to hear some intelligent responses to this. Thanks.
