Why is Betislands STILL at the bottom of the top 5 poster's sportsbook poll for 2011?

I mean, it is very obvious that Betisland has more clients than Bookmaker now in this forum and why is still behind Bookmaker?

Or maybe... just maybe... the majority of posters who play there now hadn't even heard of BetIslands a year ago. The last poll was done in October. When the next one opens up, make sure to place your vote.

You can't really go by that poll. Some books are north america only some are the rest of the world. some books are every country. Considering that Bookmaker accepts most countries I think BI is doing pretty good.

Secondly, that was then. Maybe now is different but it won't change the last poll.

Nothing against BI, but I doubt the above statement is true..despite people's penchant for the "flavor of the day".

I don't see how the above statement could be true. BI is a great book but as Shari references, many people hadn't even heard of them mid last year. I would imagine Bookmaker has at least double the clients as BI. I'm a big fan of BI and hope they continue to grow, but they aren't handling the volume as Bookmaker.

The reason they are 5 is because it was done so long ago.. They have had huge surge of popularity since then.

It depends on how you look at it. They only opened in early 2011. The first thread I could find about them on SBR was in March '11 and it was a 2 response thread to someone asking if anyone played there. It wasn't until a couple of months later that posters really started to talk about them. In fact, there were a couple of long-time posters who were claiming that they "wouldn't be around at Thanksgiving", "you're a sucker if you play there", etc... even one poster in this thread. The fact that in a few months they managed to crack the poll at all is a huge testament to Jon, their customer service and their offerings. They beat out much larger, well-established books, both offshore and elsewhere, to take the #5 spot. I'm just really not sure how anyone could see their ranking as a bad thing.

Jon or Admin can correct me if I'm wrong - which I often am - but I'm pretty sure the BetIslands that we know it as now appeared in early 2011. I actually remember it very clearly because I had run into Chat to tell the guys about the freeplays being offered. They may have been attached to a different brand all those years before or whatever but it wasn't Jon's BI. That's the BI I'm referring to.

you are correct they didnt exist, the name was a jazz pph. it's false advertising and they've been doing it since the start.
