    5dimes bad check
I will try and keep this as simple and short as possible.

I received a check for 3k from 5dimes that I took into the bank it was drawn from to try and cash. I was told that the check is no good....it's from a closed account.

I contacted 5dimes and was told I need to get a stamp from the bank stating that the check is not good. I went back into the bank and asked for a letter or a stamp saying it was no good and they said they can't do anything else but tell me the check is from a closed account. No more info can be released on an account that isn't mine. I am definitely not going to deposit it now knowing it is no good just to wait whatever amount of time for it to come back with an nsf stamp.

Now 5dimes is telling me that they need a stamp stating it is no good from the bank or they would have to put a stop payment on the check and charge me $250 and I can never receive checks again.....HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE?!?!? I'm the one being inconvenienced with a bad check from them and they are going to penalize me....WOW.

I also understand processor issues and this is the first time I have ever had an issue with payouts or anything else when it comes to 5dimes in all the years I've played there. I have cashed checks and had P2Ps always go smoothly. I'm not hurting for the 3k but this seems like it's going to be a monster headache.

I've never filed an SBR complaint form, is that the next step I should take?

    This is the message I just received from them after emailing a copy of the check in;

    Dear Customer,

    Greetings!
Thank you for the information, it has been forwarded to the
    Accounting Department to be reviewed.
Please contact us back on Tuesday after 3pm ET for an update since
the Accounting Department closes on weekends.

    And the delay begins......

        Hi Laz,

Thanks for sharing. Do you use a major bank? Every bank I'm aware of will mail you a copy of the returned check within 3-7 days. If you're able to ask them this, the industry standard is then you email it to the sportsbook, and they will resolve it.

I know you're worried, but it unfortunately happens. I would try to do the above, if not, see how the book's request can be accommodated. It sounds like they're giving you steps to try. You can always write to us after doing the above if you still need help.

          Lou,

I do have a major bank, but it's a joint account and I do not use that account for my wagering. Shouldn't there be quicker way to get this resolved aside from having to deposit/wait a week to get back a check you already know isn't good?

I spoke with Ernest in CS and he told me to email a picture of the check and that has been the only step that has been taken so far. I guess my only option at this point is to wait until Tuesday and see what happens.

I'm sure this will get resolved, I'm not too worried about that but 5dimes telling me that there is a chance that they might have to put a stop payment on it and charge me $250 sounds pretty ridiculous when I'm not at fault for any of this.
