    Spam up the wazoo
It is really going nuts with the onset of football. I just checked a few random dates in my deleted e-mail file.

    Aug. 6 - 46 pieces of spam
    Aug. 27 - 91
    Sept. 4 - 155

I guess I shouldn't complain. If I am ever looking for a wiener enlargement or an on-line pharmacy or fake rolexes or stock tips, I have everything I need at my fingertips.

I get the best part of 200 a day in my GMail Spam folder. Luckily it filters it for me.

Now they're starting to come where they request receipts. Knobs.

I have a question about this gmail spam filter. Don't you still have to check everything anyway in case the wrong thing got routed in there?

      Like, how is it helping?

I'm starting to get the spam up the wazoo as well. This coinciding with me signing up with a new book for BTP so it's pretty obvious who the culprit is. Only had a scattering of spam emails before, now it's daily, and most from guys claiming to be hitting 70%.

I remember when I was a mod here, we started a bit of a project to see if we could isolate who was most responsible for spam. Like different identities were given unique e-mail addresses and set up with one sportsbook each. The idea was that, whichever e-mail started getting spam, the corresponding sportsbook was the culprit.

In my memory, it got all muddled though. Even if we could have proved the prime sources, I'm not sure what good it would have done.

I would be curious if any SBR people remember this and can talk more about what happened. It was right in the very earliest days of the forum. Dozer was involved, I remember.

The question I'm about to ask is so obvious I assume you have already made a decision not to answer it but dammit I'm going to ask anyway: what book was it?
