Hello and thanks for any replies as this is my first post.
Basically at the start of the season I put £365 on Robin Van Persie with PaddyPower to be the premierships top goal scorer at 10/1. I never thereafter used the account and went to chat one day to see if I could close the account but keep the bet open. So I said in chat - I would like to close this account but I have an open bet. He was like let me deal with the account first and then the bet? I was like OK. He said why do you want to close it, I was like ahhh its too easy to access. Then the rep asked if I would like to close it temporarily or permanently? I was like ah permanently..... The next thing he said was that's it, your account has been closed and your bet refunded (£365). I was like WTF..... you never asked what I wanted to happen to the bet. All I kept getting was its in our terms and conditions...... "A customer who has requested to self-exclude will be closed permanently (reactivation is not an option with Paddy Power) and any outstanding transactions will be refunded". But I wasnt asking for self exclusion, nor did I enter it via an exclusion link. I just wanted to see if I could close the account and let the bet run, and if not I wasn't going to. I have later since questioned two PP reps via chat, one stating that closing under responsible gaming means current bets would stand, and the other said yes you can close the account and let the bets continue to run.... just let us know if they do and we will pay out.
Basically do I have any comeback here? They term it outstanding transactions, so anyone with an open bet for instance Liverpool to with the premier league could close their account and get refunded?
Thanks
