Is Tony from 5dimes right? Is this "theft"?

Hi Ted,

I think you already know the answer to your Q. It seems like 5Dimes caught you past-posting one time and allowed you to keep your account if you conceded to the $66 adjustment. I might consider yourself lucky the previous shots you took weren't caught.

Applicable 5D rule:

A bet made after an event begins based on occurrences that have developed while in-play, is considered a "past-post", and will be handled as blatant theft. This applies for all regular game lines or when play resumes in live wagering. All events intended for in-play offering will be noted as such on the wagering option.

no man no predicament, simply wanting to know what the sbr community thought that is all. i think it is a crutch to rely on that rule to use as a way to justify not being on top of your board, i have never seen any other sportsbook have this issue on this level before. and honestly unless you have spyware, how can you actually prove that you are taking a play bc it has already happened?

i mean common tho i had 0 in my account on Saturday and still found 2 errors on the board, not like i was on there all day...your telling me that is professional? your job is to put up the line and take it down before the game...not that hard esp for a company that has "specialized people with 15 years in the biz".

all good points but no one is acknowledging how 5dimes does have 1 job and that is to put lines up and take em down before the game....i have been betting online now for well over 7 years and have never seen any other book have this issue...i completely agree to do past-post is wrong, i enjoy beating them legitimately much more. how to prove past post tho is another interesting point...

Just a scenerio: What if OP bet on game after it was posted and picked loser, not knowing it was already posted. What would 5dimes do? Tony would leave account open and wouldn't mention it while taking funds. All this honesty bs is garbage. The book would be the first to be dishonest if it works in their favor. I agree with op, get your lines straight and this won't be a issue.

after the fact - he did point out other errors that are time consuming for everyone and can cause misunderstandings about fault and liabilities and should have gotten something for doing thier job. maybe even give he a job catching all the errors. so much per catch.

thats what i am saying how can you even prove past posting? unless tony is using spyware and can prove that i looked at a scoreboard prior to me making the play...

thanks, tried getting tony to do that he said no, only reduced juices for saving his error filled board that could cost him thousands

I call it evening the score for all the outrageous charges to withdraw your own money. Maybe they ought to hire better help instead of having the players do their job for them and getting nothing in return.

How much have you made off og them on the 15+ other times you claim to have cheated them over the last year - I am guessing it is a lot more the $66 it cost you to reopen your account.

I agree that isnt necessarily right for them to charge you this - but to be honest you should probably count yourself lucky that they didnt notice the previous bunch of times you past-posted and got away with it and should probably count yourself luckier that they dont decide to give your account a full audit or close you for good...

wow i never said i past-posted 15 times...i have def spotted them leaving lines up 15+ times tho.

i truly do enjoy beating books the real way, being right with real bets....i am bringing this to sbr to see what majority of people think of the subject of 5dimes legit being the only site that consistently has this issue and calls it theft

so sbr i just wanted your input did i have a right to my money back and does 5dimes have any right to call this theft when they are just sucking at their job?

both of these books have as many (more probably) bad lines as 5dimes and they will both limit-boot you for betting them

It is NOT theft because Tony gave you a choice:

You tried to screw him out of $66 on a game that already happened so he gave you the CHOICE of closing down your account or paying him $66 to keep your account activated. If he did not give you that choice and just reduced your account by $66 then it would be theft on his part.

It was your decision to agree to his terms and pay him the $66 that you tried to steal from him. I'm sure you know the $66 doesn't mean anything to him and he did this to you solely based on principal.

Its also important to understand that 5 Dimes puts up 1000's of betting options every single day and mistakes are going to happen as its human beings entering the betting options into the site.

Just in case you think I'm biased in favor of Tony, he disabled my horse betting even though I had one winner from my last 50 horse bets and cut my sports betting limits down to 20% of normal limits so I'm not his #1 fan thats for sure.

He charged $66 to keep an account open? Right, so he made the OP pay him out to keep his account activated. 5dimes will be down the sink soon, like the rest. What's the American version of the TAB? If anyone is familiar with what the TAB actually is.
