Vote YES on Sports Wagering this November 8th in New Jersey.
On November 8th, in statewide elections, we finally have our chance to vote and make sports betting legal in New Jersey.
We need your help, and WE NEED YOUR VOTE. Vote YES on NJ Sports Wagering this November 8th in the state-wide elections.

On November 8th, New Jersey voters will go to the polls and decide whether the state should permit legal sports wagering. With a successful YES vote, New Jersey will be one step closer to making bets at Atlantic City's casinos and the racetracks in the Meadowlands and Monmouth Park.

Bob Griffin, CEO of Trump Entertainment: "Legalized sports betting will attract more tourists to visit our city and enjoy our world-class entertainment, thriving restaurant industry, brand-name retail shopping and famous Boardwalk. Sports betting will allow Atlantic City to better compete, grow and reinvest in the region."

Bergen Record: Majority of New Jersey residents support legal sports betting
Press of Atlantic City: Casinos urge voters to approve sports betting

I hope it passes too but I am not so sure it will really solve Atlantic Citys problems. These casinos really havent transformed the city the way that people thought they would, they really need to revamp the whole city for people to want to travel to atlantic city and gamble. I doubt vegas at this point sees it as any sort of threat, the two places arent even in the same ballpark right now, and sports wagering is only a tiny portion of the total gaming revenue in Las Vegas. I read it made up only 1.2 percent of the $5.8 billion produced by the 42 casinos on the Strip in 2010.

I live on the east coast and could be in Atlantic city in a quick flight to gamble at a sportsbook but I would still rather fly across the country and go the the strip in vegas and gamble at a sportsbook, there is nothing that comes even remotely close to the strip in Vegas at atlantic city or tunica.,etc. Atlantic City and all these casino towns around the country need a major overhaul to compete with Vegas.

I dont mean to sound negative, I really hope this passes and it inspires Atlantic City leaders to make the city more desirable to stay at for more than a day or so. It would be great not to always have to take a long cross country flight to vegas, this is a smart move by New Jersey.

Very important that everyone who lives in New Jersey take the time to go and vote YES for this as it will allow New Jersey to challenge the federal ban. With many states looking to legalize online gambling it will be very important that this ban be overturned.

Go ahead and vote YES. It won't matter. The Federal ban will not be lifted, but at least it is a step in the right direction.
