Received check from 5dimes

Received a xxxss last week from 5dimes for over 2k and I cashed it today. The bank teller told me that they have been "having problems" from the company that's on the check. What does this mean ??

Probably means they're keeping an eye on the company cutting the checks. I'm sure the check didn't say "5 Dimes Sportsbook", so they're probably just checking what the hell the check is for.

She also asked me if I was expecting the check, like it was a scam or something. The check was from a national bank I have heard of.

Depends on your bank, usually two weeks tops.

You are free to be paranoid, but clearly you're not experienced in this area. No reason whatsoever not to take them to the bank.

I should have done ATM deposit. That way I only have to deal with a machine, not a nosey teller.

You make it seem like "those places" just cash your check and send you on your way. They take more than enough info to track you down if needed.
