Signing over a check to a friend so he can cash your payout....
Is there any risk and by risk i mean the check bouncing or not going through... If i sign a check over to a friend should it work with no problem i only ask because i dont have a checking account... Anybody do it before?

a lot of banks wont cash it this way. we got my girlfriends mothers check the other day and even with her signing it over near wells fargo or chase would let her deposit or cash it because her mothers name was not on the account. Is there risk of course.. check bouncing is not uncommon you can search for threads and see it happens. if you dont have a checking account i would suggest not getting a check. if you go open a new account honestly a lot of banks probably wont cash a check from offshore because its usually canadian or something weird and you are a new account holder.

This is a very bad idea. Even with A books there is always a chance it can bounce. It's not uncommon for a book to have a "processor issue" and have checks bounce. Furthermore, in some cases weeks can go by before it comes back as "bounced" even though the bank may have already cleared the funds as a courtesy. You dont want to take the chance of putting your friend in a bad position. Take it to a check casing place before you deposit in someone else's account

I brought it up because I'm now with a new book, i did it in the past but it did work because a friend of mine is a head teller there so I'm sure him working there and being a manager helps doesn't it?

Though the limits are lower. It's great when they send money orders instead of a check.

i got a max from both today mngrm today and max is 690 at 5D fee was 52 for the max....the other is 950 man and a flat fee of 30 bucks no matter the amount the the amounts and fees on the 5D page are way behind what they are now they should change them

yes that helps a lot but if the check bounces you will start getting calls from different departments so could get them in trouble. When betjam was around most people didnt know but you could call and ask them not to send the check from the canandian bank. I would get a check from bankoamerica from jamaica. I could think take it to the local BkofAma and cash it for 5 dollar fee. Betjam told me that they used two seperate banks because 1 day i got a canadian check and my local bank wanted 37 buisness days plus a crap load of paper work to clear it because they said 90 percent of checks from canada are fake.

Just open a savings acct if you can't get checking and deposit it yourself.

it's all depend on manager's decision... But most major banks does not take double endorsed checks anymore.
