Sorry I am a newbie, I have used Matchbook before and I understand it, but I do not understand the AGAINST in the BetMaker exchange. I know for Against I am betting for the team to lose but in baseball with no ties, how is that not different from just betting to Win. In a game with ties or on Totals I can understand the Against but not in sides.
Can anyone help me understand the angle behind the Against bet?
Today in the AZ v. PHI Game the line is FOR AZ +123 AGAINST +128
FOR PHI -129 AGAINST -123
If I bet Against PHI isn't that the same as betting for AZ? that means there is no spread for book, they only take their commission of 2%?
If I bet For PHI isn't that the same as betting against AZ? Here there is only a 1 cent spread.
It is confusing because at Matchbook the spread was always at least 2 cents usually 3-4 cents if you wanted to get your bet accepted.
Any help for this idiot is appreciated!
