    Finding a local bookie
With all the offshore guys closing down U.S. accounts, etc I am needing to find a local bookie.
I have never done this before and have no clue where to find one.

    Can someone help, PLEASE

do u live near a big city? I have grown up living in New Jersey, Degenerates and bookies everywhere. Do you have any friends who gamble? Maybe a sports bar? Isnt there bookies every where?

My luck with locals in the past 27 years has been disgusting. There was a time when these fellows had class and money. I see those days as being GONE.
Maybe better luck in huge cities, where there can be consequences if not a straight ace?

I had the same question looking for another out...guess I can just walk into a sports bar in the DC area and ask the manager if knows a good local bookie.

go to local sports bar, sit at teh bar.. Find a game that's a blowout but close to the game total.. ex. 7-1 ballgame in the bottom of the 8th.. And start bitching at every batter that strikes out for both teams. "I just need one more run damnit!", "None of these focking assholes can hit", "Game should have went over in the 6th!!!". Also you might want to mumble how much you think betting huge favorites is a lock. You'll attract a local or someone who knows one.

Once NFL starts, go into a sports bar where you live and note who is constantly looking a sheet of paper--those are probably his picks. You'll probably have to give him your phone number. After he talks to the guy he plays with, maybe the bookie will give him permission to give you his number. (Don't ask for the bookies contact info directly; let him make the first contact.).

bowling alleys and golf courses are loaded with people who bet or book. probably would not take much effort to find one at either place
