    Employment from Sportsbooks
Okay I just grad from college and was thinking of a job. I was wondering if any of you know how someone could get employed by one of these books. Any help is much appreciated.

true i doubt after graduating from college anyone would be excited about 4-5$ an hr tops and then 1-5% of players deposits as commission.

its a shitty job unless ur a linesman.. and that takes years of experience and knowledge before they would trust u.

I just graduated from maritime school. I'm hoping I can captain the Titantic. Your timing is horrible to say the least

                    Bookmaking

Working in books is not for everyone, but if you want to experience life outside of the US, Costa Rica is a great place to start. It doesn't hurt if you learn a little Spanish before you go down there. If anything it will help with the local tail. If you have a hooker, gambling, or drug problem stay away. Costa Rica will chew you up and spit you out. You'll go crying back to Mommy and Daddy with your tail in between your legs.

Loving sports is a must, which obviously for us SBR degenerates, isn't a problem. You have to understand that it rains for 6 months at a time. I'm not talking some pussy rain either, straight monsoon shit. Cars are expensive. If you work at a book you'll work 6 days a week during football, which can get gnarly doing 8-10 hour shifts. Most books are located in the San Jose Valley, so the beach is about 1.5 hours away (thank god for the new highway).

If you are planning on getting a position that deals directly with clients, make sure you have patience and a cool head. Talking to people that just lost their hard earned money can turn sensitive at times. As far as salary goes it does matter what position you have within the book. Lines managers get paid BANK, but you have to have experience. Sales Managers get paid well, but only if you are good. You'll be living in Costa Rica, so you can live well off a salary that might not seem so appetizing in the states.

Start doing some more research. Perhaps make a list of the books you'd like to work at and contact their HR departments for job listings. Send some resumes. Check craigslist "costa rica".

Hope this helped! Good luck dood!

Our Father, who art in heaven,
                    hallowed be thy name,
                    thy kingdom come,
                    thy will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread
and forgive us our debts and we forgive
                    our debtors,
and lead us not into temptation,
                    but deliver us from evil,
for thine is the kingdom and the power
                    and the glory, forever. Amen.

Be proud of what you do or don't do it. Being a bookie is a respectable job.

If your Grandmother is disappointed in you because you are going to another country to do something you actually want to do and like doing, instead of sitting on your ass in the states, working some dead beat job, that you hate waking up for every morning, i'd say **** you grandma! Better than slanging burgers at mickey d's contributing to the world's obesity epidemic.

All I'm saying is be proud of what you do. Or else why the **** do it?

Not too true, as in all 3rd world countries, poverty is there, but not EVERYONE is.

Strict Chronic Laws are in any civilized country, why would this be different, stay out of trouble and you will do fine.
