How much $ does it take to be banned from SB
Just curious how much money a year you would have to make before a sportsbook would shut you off? I only use 5D betjam and Greek. Thanks for any constructive input!

It depends on the book. Most do not ban you, just limit your max bet to $100 or less, so it is worthless to keep betting there. It depends of the book, some books (for pros) seldom limit, the recreational books do it more often, and some specific books are trigger happy.

some will ban you for the way you bet, like for example if you take advantage of their slow moving lines, whether you win any money or not. If they profile you as doing something they don't like they will just go ahead and pull the trigger.

As Pedro says, its not always about how much you win, but more to do with the way they view your business - I have known people who have been limited after only a few bets and who were actually losing a bit of money with the book that limited them.

What happened was that one guy had caught the book out when they were slow to react to a few line moves and bet them - as it happened, more of them lost than won, but the book decided that they didnt want to continue accepting that sort of business as in the long run they likely figured that they would lose money so slashed his limits.

On the flipside, I know another guy who is in decent profit at the same book, and hasn't yet been limited - he does his own thing, doesnt arb or chase steam, just caps the game his own way and puts his bets on and seems to have either flown under the radar (so far!) or that the book doesnt seem to worry about him.

If you bet a lot of parlays then your limits seem to be pretty flexible, even if you win - I heard about 1 guy who bet parlays all the time, and ended up hitting one for around 80k and he saw that once the book has sent him his payment, that they had actually increased his limits - probably hoping that he got cocky and figured "easy money" after his big win, hoping that he would up his stakes and lose it all back !

Do not bet on odds which is better than the betfair-market. They shut you down because they make no money on you as customer. Then I can ask. Why have account with them at all? Use BetFair. Thats enough if you want to play and WIN.

they run a business and the player is kind of running a business, so it is up to them if they want continue to lose from you or like some books use winning players to help guide their lines. In the end the book control which bet they take and the player decides where he wants to play
