Hertiage/Covers/BetED - What's the Real Story?

So Covers now say that Hertiage wanted to bailout BetEd, but
BetED lawyers told BetED management to turn it down and lay low for a while.

Hertiage are saying that no talks or deal ever took place.

Covers are saying Hertiage are just trying to back away from any involvement.

Some posters at Covers are accusing Covers of a smokescreen,
whilst most seem to be accepting this story, and Covers seem to be off the hook.

Does anyone at SBR know the real story behind this?

Heritage is an invite only book. Why would they all of a sudden want 5,000 new players when they've never wanted this many new players in the past, especially when in this case where all these new players would already start with a balance? There is no shot they were in talks with beted.

they did buy bethorizon not long ago, so they seem to be on the offence. i have no idea who offered or didn't offer what nor do i care, but the above argument seems a bit speculative.

This is the very reason I believe Heritage did not make an offer. Heritage is about slow, sustained growth. The purchase of Horizon leads me to believe they have more than enough on their plate right now. Also, although Heritage is very generous with its current clients, there is very little upside with them bailing out BetEd. Finally, just consider Covers' obvious motive to deflect blame from one of their advertisers going under by pointing elsewhere. Of course I'm just speculating too, but this Covers' story really smells.

No one should face jail time. Americans should be legally allowed to bet on offshore sportsbooks and poker sites and american banks should be allowed to process payments related to gambling. The DOJ would like nothing better than to divide and conquer. The starting point to that is to distract away from the bullshit laws and the bullshit sting operation that Homeland Security did; and to get gamblers to pick and choose who they like and hate. BetEd and Covers are not the enemy; their both victims of BS laws

Teddy Covers aka "Dirty Sheets" walked away from an upside down mortgage. Its sleazy but Teddy scams for a living so it comes as no surprise.
