I tried to place a bet on MLB in my BODOG account and it says:
THE STAKE MUST BE A MINIMUM OF US$ 1.00 AND A MAXIMUM OF US$ 60.60.
WTF?? Am I limited already???

Yep, just received this from support:
Your account has been restricted to betting with a reduced maximum. This was based on a trading decision by our Sports Department. We assure you that we did not make this decision in haste, or without serious deliberation. This decision is final and non-negotiable. You are welcome to continue using our Poker and Casino products, but will notice that your betting limits are reduced on Sports markets. We understand should you wish to close your account, and will be happy to assist in processing a payout for you at your convenience.
I am not a arber or anything like that. Made regular bets. I was their customer for 1 month only and now they will be more than happy to see me leave.
Have anyone here experienced this with Bodog?

Not much for such a book.
I opened account there just for fun - to try to beat them despite their shitty juiced odds. Deposited a really small amount. I won about 5 times initial purse, but it is small amount anyways.

Nothing new here. Win a few bets, get limited. They don't give the folks who were on a hot streak the chance to lose it back. Seems like childish mentality for a book that big.

This is UK bodog. Nothing more to it I was just on a streak. I agree that is childish as if they do not believe in gambling business themselves

That is a copy and paste job right there - I received that exact statement from them, word for word, over 3 years ago when I took them for about $3k on their live betting system. They reduced my live betting limit to $1.

I'll know not to re-deposit with Bodog after looking at this thread......That's chickenshit coming from a high profile book.

just look at bodog right now, an hour away from the start of the MLB games for the day and only half the lines are up, truly a shit book. no lines on Detroit or the Yankees and 60 min away from first pitch.

i like bodog, the canada one. great underdog odds, which is what i like most anyway. some people think bodog is bad but i like it, they pay, and sometimes have another point or at least a half a point on underdogs. and great underdog baseball odds, like today pirates +180.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion on the bodog bookmaking policies, but the facts are that all the bodog brand licensees are completely legit and you will always get your payout- always. Bodog.com has not missed a payout in the 16 years it has been in business and all the bodog brand licensees are free of any sort of criminal record and are very well respected in the online gambling industry.
If you ever have any trouble receiving your payouts, please contact CS and if they are unable to help, send me a PM and I will speak with a senior manager on your behalf.
Thanks,
Becky

They are extremely quick to limit. I had my props limits slashed after I beat them for a rather small amount, only a few thousand dollars.

One of those piss poor operations that mask themself as a sportsbook, but are afraid to take any serious action.
Or sometimes they won't even have lines up 1h before an early mlb game as someone pointed out, crap like that.
Sure they are happy to "assist" with the payouts, they make enuf of the clueless bettors with their shitty lines.
And worst of it all, the whole marketing strategy did cost us all. Why did the DoJ go after gambling so fast?
Cos of sites like Bodog, appearing in commercials and trying to lure in the clueless public instead of trying to stay under the radar.
I have the lowest respect for these ppl, and Becky can go **** herself cos she supports it.

Just a bad book all-around. I sat in queue for over an hour today waiting for support. I dont know what was worse, the fact I actually waited an hour, or the fact it took that long. Very,Very poor CS.
Bodog Becky is right about 1 thing. Bodog has been around 16 years. In that time, I promise you theyve never upgraded the technology support uses. Every time I ask a question regarding my account, CS always says "Hold on Sir, still waiting for it to load". Frustrating to no end sometimes.

It doesn't matter which BoDog brand you're dealing with (UK, Canadian or U.S.) and it also doesn't matter if you're a small, medium or large bettor. It also doesn't matter if you beat them at straight wagering, live betting or props.
If you are in the black (making money), your account will be limited across the board.
The ONLY way to keep your account at full limits at BoDog is to lose and lose consistently.
If you ever see a site use the term "recreational bettor", this means losing bettor. BoDog loves to use this term and its important to remember what the term really means. They claim that their site is meant for recreational betting only but they still have $2,000 and up limits on NFL games, etc. What kind of "recreational bettor" bets $2,000 a game, LOL?
5Dimes is EXACTLY the same way as is the case with the majority of sportsbooks.
Becky so you think bookie is only about payouts?
Sharlataans is right on target with this statement.
While processing customer withdrawal requests promptly is the #1 most important thing when it comes to online sportsbooks, it is certainly NOT the only thing that matters.
In my opinion, books that slash customer wagering limits so quickly like BoDog and 5 Dimes should NOT be rated any higher than "B" by SportsbookReview or any other sportsbook monitoring grading service.
The "A" ratings should be reserved for books like Bookmaker, Greek and Pinnacle who also process customer withdrawal requests in a timely manner and do NOT slash customer wagering limits. Bookmaker, Greek and Pinnacle are willing to "take on all comers" and I haven't heard of anyone getting their wagering limits reduced at those outlets unless they are "chasing steam" or acting in some other unethical manner.
Bookmaker, Greek and Pinnacle are truly A+ operations while BoDog/5Dimes should receive a grade of no higher than B.
I admit there is some bias regarding the above comments as my wagering limits were reduced down to $50 at BoDog and by 80% at 5 Dimes. Also, after losing 46 horse betting wagers in a row, Tony of 5 Dimes fame decided to disable my account from horse betting.
When I asked him the reason for disabling my horse betting privileges at 5 Dimes, he replied that he doesn't want my action and I should be able to find another sportsbook that does.
Truly amazing!!!

Sad when Sportsbook.com has a higher tolerance for winners than your shop.
