    What's going on?
i don't know if this is everybody reacting or is it really all going down?

ever since the poker crash i'm seeing lots of posts claiming TROUBLE with the top rated books.

my guess (well, my hope) is that this will all settle down in a few weeks and everything will be back to normal. the threat of everything instantly shutting down is on everybody's mind, and quite simply it is scary.

sportsbooks are safe. Because they do not have the exposure that poker had. Poker was on espn, commercials, on hats. It came back to bite them. Espn has since dropped poker.

Honestly you seem to be the only one who is worried about this.

No trouble with any of the top books it is business as usual, just because "_____" is told by "_______" that his payout may take a few extra days this does not mean anything. Processor delays and issues have been occurring long before "black friday" and are only standing out to people now because of recent UNRELATED events.

My suggestion is to stop stressing over nothing and stop creating misleading threads that contribute nothing but to cause panic amongst the community and aid the DoJ in their ultimate goal of scaring US players into not playing offshore.

Thats what Poker Stars and Full Tilt told me too...No Worries your money is safe. BEWARE things are going down that will effect the processors who are commuting fraud and Money Laundering. When they go down your money will too. The sites have no say to the matter when the Feds shut down the shaddy processors who put through transactions of us buying computer, Jewelery or security services. I would really be careful depositing funds into any site if you are in the USA right now. I won't be depositing anymore until I see what happens w/ the poker sites who have over $1,000 of my funds held right now. The current processors are not safe and I can already see things changing for the worse with more delays in payouts and processors taking longer to get there funds. Bet-ter beware!!!!

I think your caution is justified, but it is my understanding that FT and Stars will be processing payments to American customers in the very near future, with DOJ's assent. Let's keep our fingers crossed.

I think that at least with poker we will get our funds but with sports as the law is more specific that it is illegal if they go down so will all the funds.

What "things" are going down exactly? do you have new information that nobody else has access to?

This has nothing to do with receiving funds only sending them and there are many other ways to fund an account this is just the easiest/most attractive.

No offense but you do not come across as a big time player who has many years of experience on these matters so it is probably best for the industry that you not pass off your unguided beliefs onto others.

Once again as with 2006 the professional players will continue on and the only players that the DoJ is going to succeed in scaring off are going to be the recreational players.

I was playing online poker well before the game took off online at places like party, pacific and paradise poker years and years ago and am just a mid sized better wagering 2-4K a month on sports. The industry in the US is going down just like poker just did. These shady processors along with the books are commuting FRAUD Believe me the smart and so called A books which are trusted will all leave just like Pinnacle and Party Poker did years back. The US will clean out all these offshore illegal books and pave way for legalized and REGULATED books within US. Paving the way for Betfair and others to come in as regulated books and poker too. They will go down just like poker did. Out of the blue and very quickly and anyone with funds in these sites will be out of luck. These shady processors are even in the USA. Last check I received from an A+ book was Laundered through a US bank and processed through some dumb security company in Miami. Not a good idea these days. At least poker has the PPA which helped negotiate payments of funds back to players. Offshore books have nada IE money will all be BYE BYE!!! Anyone that does not believe this best treat every bet and deposit made as FUN or play money and if you get paid it's a bonus..... BET-ter beware!!!!! Don't come a crying when you out........

                    Why would anything change now?

There have not been any new laws passing to change how the industry is regulated. Books are not going to up and change their minds about not leaving the US market just because 3 sites are being charged with bribing a banker and setting up false companies to process deposits. Worst case scenario we find ourselves with more limited depositing options.

The only increased difficulty that could arise will be from a possible lack of deposit options and the fear of the DoJ by those who do not understand what is happening which will likely once again run off recreational players which ultimately hurts the industry as a whole but will not destroy it as you speculate.

It would be foolish to begin to speculate on the future of the industry when this all just recently happened and as of right now nobody has been prosecuted and we have yet to see how this is going to play out both legally and with the World Trade Organazation.
