Definitely more failed ones. If you think this industry has been around since about 1993 and even if you say 200 started and failed every year (I think the number is much higher) that means 3400-3500 failed.
Today is the tomorrow we worried about yesterday.

What do you mean by "failed"? I'd say there are more former companies in just about every industry.

I mean out of business, like Lazerwager, BOS, Panam, Aces Gold, BCN......

More former companies in any industry= OK, but online books have only been around for 15 or so years, we are not talking about auto makers or Indian motorcycles, etc.

Go to the ratings list, most of the books in there dont exist anymore.

Do you mean just went out of business, OR went out business and stiffed its players? Big difference. You named a handful but I don't think there are that many prominent books that went down and stiffed.

Failed, or they were scams from the jump, and never planned to be ongoing business concerns.

True but it is tough to differentiate a failed book from a scam because most books fail and then become a scam because they don't have the money to pay. A lot of failed/scam books start out with good intentions but get greedy with the money. Then they have none in reserve out of poor management and when people start to ask for withdrawals and no money is coming in then a failed book becomes a scam.

                                      Joe,

                                      You are my man!
You just took the words out of my mouth!
I could not say it myself as posters may not take my words as serious as yours, though I am not even too sure about that, but let's assume it. More important The Shrink would blame me for creating too much trouble.
As you know I have this 100,000 pounds bet on the fact that 80% of Caribbean books will be out of business in five years time. Well the worst, which can happen to a book, is that everyone has a run on their bank accounts. Bravo!
Give me your bank account no.
I will give you a tip.
                                      I won that bet.
