#842I requested a $200 payout via check on 1/20/09 and just received the check today 2/09/09 via usps, on a US bank (Wachovia). This is a smaller payout than most here, but reasonably quick compared to my other experiences with check payouts from other places which are usually around 14 days.Comment -

#848hi guys, just wanted to share my experience.. I cashed out 2500 on 1-23 and recieved the check on 2-3 which was quite surprising.. I also cashed out 2 more 2500 dollar checks on the 24th and recieved one of them on 2-9. The other is still pending. Both checks were drawn on a new York bank.. Deposited 1 but still hasn't cleared 4 days later.. I'm getting worried seeing all the threads of bounced checks but hope it clears by Monday. I also chose fed-ex and the checks came the next day after processed. Just my 2 cents. I have my fingers crossed it clears by Monday as the money would be nice foe my vegas trip.Comment -

#854i have a question. When is a check officially in the clear so to say? I recieved one from sportsbook.com and it cleared about 2-3 weeks ago and the funds are available. When a check clears it means it cleared the bank on which it was drawn. So, is it still possible that it bounces? How could that even be possible if it has cleared the original bank? I just want to know how safe my funds are. I have heard of people getting the funds retracted weeks later after it has cleared but that has to be very uncommon right? Any comfort you can give me that my funds are safe?Comment -

#856Received Check Today!
Just wanted to throw in my experience with Sportsbook.com. My initial withdrawal request was on 01/12/09. I received a message that my request was cancelled and that I had to submit a utility bill and copy of my driver's license. I did so and received clearance to try another withdrawal.
So on 01/31/09 (was able to meet the deadline for the free withdrawal per month) I requested a check and received a confirmation on 02/10/09 that it was processed! I also received a message on 02/16/09 that my check shipped with a USPS delivery confirmation number.
I received the check today, 02/17/09, and it is dated 02/13/09. This is also the date the envelope was postmarked. The bank is a big name bank, branch located in the east coast. I am going to deposit it tomorrow and see if (hopefully) it clears.
Just to let everyone know, I'm not a big time gambler (my withdrawal was only $400). My bets are usually small, around $20-$50 per play. I don't know if this makes any difference with the payout system.
What should I look out for as far as the check clearing? Do I just give it 7-10 business days after the deposit date and I'm in the clear? Just a little bit worried after reading about the bounced checks!!! Thanks guys. I'll post an update later.Comment -

#857I just received a payout complaint from a Sportfanatik player, member of the Jazette Family.
The player indicates:
4 months ago I requested my funds withdrawn, a month later it was processed, since that date 3 months have gone by exactly. I have still not seen one dime,
This part of the year we can expect to see more and more of these slow-pays coming. I'd suggest players use extreme caution with where their action goes, staying on top of the Industry subforum and exchanging up to date feedback is imperative for anyone willing to post up more than they're comfortable losing (which should be any amount, really).

#858Sportsbook.com bounced check
I deposited a check from sportsbook.com and it initially cleared my bank. Then, two weeks later, the money was taken from my acct. Gotta complaint in now. Still waiting on the money, they say they are investigating the problem. Yeah, whatever.Comment -

#859highly recommend any1 who gets a payment from sb to go to the bank that issued the check to have it cashed, last time i played with them they took 3 months to pay me, i finally got paid went to the bank and cashed the 2500, havent played with them since, besides my gold coins and gold cards, if u want your money any time before memorial day i would recommend cashing out asap and not turning back.Comment -

#863Wow... after having a check bounce from sportsbook.com last week, I found this site and I've read through this entire thread... amazing, only it isn't.
Two quick questions - once I receive the returned check in the mail from the bank, what does it mean if it's "stamped" or not? I have no idea what the implications are in either case. I know I have the right to present a check up to two times, but at this point I don't know if the check bounced because of insufficient funds or because a stop payment request was applied by the issuer.
Second, I also have money in sportsbetting.com and I know they have a [slightly] higher rating on SBR than sportsbook. Is it generally safe(r) to request a check from sportsbetting.com or should I go for the wire transfer? I've confirmed there are no fees for the wire from sportsbetting or from my bank, but what is the typical charge from the intermediary bank? I've been assured by sportsbetting that any wire transfer fee up to $50 will be reimbursed (only once per month and only for wire transfer withdrawals over $200) in the form of a credit to my betting account, but that doesn't really mean much if I'm not able to pull out the credit and turn it into real money. I'm not a big time gambler. I only did this because I was fronting money for a friend to bet a large amount on the superbowl, and unfortunately for me, he won. Everything is in my name, and now I have credit card bills coming due soon, and I can afford to pay them, but that's not the point. I shouldn't have to pay on a bet I didn't make, and my friend shouldn't have to pay (even temporarily) on a bet that he won.
Thanks for your help.Last edited by BouncedCheck; 02-21-09, 06:51 PM.Comment -

#868wow...how the hell is that possible...i thought once the money has cleared, you should have it for sure?? if theyre doing that and taking out money from your bank after its cleared, thats fraud.
btw, what bank did your check come from..? and what was the reason for them to take it back out?
It was from a bank in New York..Centurion Bank maybe? I don't remember because I'm waiting for my bank to send me a copy of the returned check.... I didn't know it was possible for a check to bounce 2 weeks after you have deposited but I guess anything is possible with sportsbook.com .....Comment -

#871If you recieve a check that has "Centurion Payment Processing Center" its a bogus check.. I called the building they are supposedly based out of and noone had heard of them.. How a big company can blatantly distribute fraudulent checks is beyond me, but I recieved 3 of these wonderful checks. I have contacted them and demanded a bank wire transfer. Still in the process of getting it all worked out as they want the checks faxed back to them.. They are truely a joke and once i get my money I am done. I only wish I had known of this site before I made my initial deposit.Comment -

#873I don't think it's totally bogus, or at least it wasn't until this past week. I was a total retard, because I actually have a checking account at the same bank on which the check was drawn, and prior to depositing it, I asked the teller to check that account and make sure the funds were available, because, and I quote myself, "I don't want to deposit the check if we know it's going to bounce." He said everything appeared fine, and being really dumb, I figured SB.com wouldn't send a bad check, so it would be safe to deposit it. I should have simply showed my ID to the teller and asked for the cash, as if I didn't have any account at the bank. My bad.
I made the deposit on Tuesday, February 17. By Thursday, February 19, which is the day the funds should have cleared (because it was an intra-bank transaction within the same state) it was clear that the check was going to bounce, based on my interpretation of my listed available balance. On Friday, the returned check fee posted to my account.
Coincidentally, or maybe not so coincidentally, February 19 was the same day einyx19 had the funds removed from the February 5 deposit. I have a feeling the processor either screwed everyone over and skipped town, or is in kahoots with SB.com to screw the customers over, or is being investigated and has all its assets frozen by the federal government. Or maybe SB.com just took it upon themselves to file a stop payment request on that entire batch of checks (or on multiple batches), and the processor was simply following instructions. When I called SB the guy seemed disappointed but not surprised that my check bounced. He also said the entire batch was bad and they had stopped payment due to security issues. Probably lying through his teeth, but what the hell do I know? I'm the dumbass who deposited it.Last edited by BouncedCheck; 02-22-09, 07:19 PM.Comment -
