Searched the forum and didn't see anything posted....just wondering if Bet Jamaica will cut your limits if you're doing well at specific sports. I haven't signed up there yet but I'm concerned that since I'll be betting at their maximum on certain sports that if I'm doing well my limits will be cut. Thanks

#2Yes. Me and many others have had their limits cut there to $500 maximum.Comment -

#3On some sports and things like team totals are already limited to $500, will they cut down that limit to less than that?
What sports were you betting that made them cut your limits? Thanks for the infoComment -

Yeah, those can get cut to $250. It's basically betting for the game or a half is maximum $500 and betting for the quarter or prop bet is maximum $250. Not sure what team totals are technically considered by them though.
My biggest bets at BetJamaica were with basketball at the time of the limit reduction - WNBA, NBA, and college hoops. These were sometimes at the posted maximum. I also bet football with them certain weeks but never higher than a dime.
It's a great sportsbook and I would not let this deter you from being an active customer of theirs. But if you do make big bets or even if you are reasonably on the plus side, you will stop getting bonuses, you won't get free plays sent out at Christmas that everyone else gets, and you'll probably get your limits reduced at some point.
Regardless of this, I always got the same great service from the staff there. Still a good place to have as a sportsbook even if your limits get reduced. Just keep in mind that this is probably how things will go for you.Comment -

#5Yes will cut your limits if you steam chasing or anything else of that type nature that goes along with it, and odds are it will be across the board.Comment -

#6Thanks for the info guys. I will still go with them and hope nothing gets cut. I really like playing team totals and specifically I was wanting to use this book to help get more down on CFL totals. Limits are so low at every book on the CFL that I really hope I don't get cut at BetJam since the limit is already $500 on these.Comment -

#8Yeah I currently use 5Dimes and TheGreek which is plenty for me when it comes to sides and moneylines, even for CFL (5D's 5K side, 2500 ML for CFL, Greek 1k side and ML), but I want to be able to get down about 2K on CFL game totals and team totals in other sports. Greek takes 500 and 5D's takes 1k on CFL game totals so looking for another 500 at another book, figure BetJam is the obvious choice but when I start doing really well on CFL totals/team totals I don't want to have my limits cut down and then need to find another book to be able to get down what I want. Hope that makes sense lolComment -

#9I'm assuming you are Canadian if you are gearing up to bet the CFL, and if that is the case why not go into Pinnacle?Comment -

#10I've had bad experiences with them. About a year ago I tried to deposit to them via bank wire; they gave me the banking info, I go to my bank and send the wire, I get a call a couple days later saying it bounced back because their account was closed and I had to eat a 5% fee off what I was depositing. I contacted pinnacle and they basically told me to buzz off. Next story with them is a couple months ago I thought I would try them out again by doing a book to book transfer. I emailed them asking how many times the initial b2b transfer deposit needs to be rolled over before it can be withdrawn and I got an email back saying they would not allow me to do a b2b transfer because they don't believe I plan on using the funds for wagering purposes which is absolutely ridiculous. Overall I just don't trust them. If I need an extra book besides BetJam, Greek and 5D's I think I'd consider matchbook but to be honest I"m not entirely sure how betting exchanges work.Comment -

#12Aside from cutting your limits, they may close your account and send you to the Greek instead.Comment -

#13That's funny - because I have heard the exact opposite, especially for betting line moves. Greek has told poeple to either start calling in their plays, or go take their action over to Jamaica. Don't get me wrong, Greek is a quality place to play and get paid, but they just don't tolerate too much steam.Comment -

#15I am not confused. I should say they were "politely" told Greek did not like betting moves online, and that they could try Jamaica - it was not "Tony" kind of ugly like at 5Dimes. That does seem odd with Greek and Jam under the same ownership group, but maybe they are run as totally different shops.Comment
