Why do books do this?

The spread for the lakers/ thunder game tomorrow is lakers +1 (-110) and okc -1 (+100)

Why don't they just make it a PK, the money line is -105 on both sides???

Good point, but they need to make money or we wouldn't have the privelage of wagering at their house.

Most possibly there is already a PK line, it is called "moneyline".
I rather prefer they keep both options and do not merge them.
