Caught Bet Phoenix in The Act

I always figured they only did not let bets go through if the line change favored them. Here is how it went down.

Halftime, Kentucky/Alabama. Selected Kentucky and The Over. Denied me. Hit refresh everywhere on side panel and main page. It changed the total up to 74, but did not change juice on Kentucky -5.5. Saw that in the main page it went down to -110 from -115. Was curios hit "create" and my bet went through.

I always had a feeling about this because, just from an anecdotal standpoint it seemed like they only notified me/denied me when it was in my disadvantage where other books are more straight up. LOVE knowing for sure now.

FYI - I feel most problems one might have with a book should be taken up with them...but feel this might be helpful to inform everyone here. Also, not about to try to explain this/complain to customer service. Would not get much, but a headache.

Thanks for sharing. You are right about customer service. Pointless to bring it up to them. They will just give you the run around or pretend they don't understand you. This is one of those sheister tricks used by a lot of lower tier books. I am a little bit suprised it's BetPhoenix that does this.

Spot on. They have a good way of making you feel like a creep if you have any type of complaint. Plus, don't like hearing myself complain. You have to pick your battles.

And for the record, I like Bet Phoenix. They have a lot of good qualities, just kind of always felt they might do this sometimes.

This is a sign of a book with no integrity. Even infamous D- book Sportsbook.com lets you know when the line has changed in your favor.

After my horrible experiences with BetPhoenix, this does not surprise me.

This is completely unethical and classless bookmaking.

Although when it comes to BetPhoenix, this is just as likely the result of their utter incompetence as it is malice.

how do u know the odds didnt go from -115 to -110 and when u were submitting they went to -115 again?

u dont know that.. so imo u have very little to complain about.

with that being said. I have had to change my bet many times.. a few times I got better odds.. so i dont think their software only allows u to hit bad lines.. i think it goes both ways since I have seen it firsthand.

Also I would like to say that betphoenix customer service is top notch in the business.. try getting ahold of betjamaica anymore through email or live chat LOL non-exisistent.. meanwhile betphoenix has chat at 3am and someone answers INSTANTLY.. just an observation....

But there is no reason to speculate. This is easy to confirm for yourself. Open one BP window in Firefox and another in IE. Go to college basketball and refresh until a line changes. Then try to bet the worse price on the stale browser window.

BP does have good customer service for the most part, but this was not a conversation I would like to have with them regardless, as you can imagine how it would have gone, even with pretty good customer service. Yes, they are a lot better than Jamaica or The Greek IMO. Bet Mania has some real "winners" tho. I know these books are connected, but don't know how closely they are tied once you go past round 1. Still, Mania has good people too.

As far as the poster that is skeptical, that is fine and I am glad you are as I am leveling a huge mark against them. We must always be careful. This was a a more of let's be on the lookout type deal than anything. It was a big deal to me because of the fact that I always have had huge suspicions and they were seemingly confirmed yesterday. I swear other books, especially with live lines, notify me either way when line changes - BP pretty much never. Was what I saw just a glitch? Perhaps. There is no way I can say for certain it was not.

However, if you know BP's new software, you know how I can be certain of what I saw, at least. An additional browser would be helpful, but you do not need one. You have the main page, and the panel on the right. Both were refreshed upon being informed of line changes.(There were two). The Total went up on main page and in panel. Juice went down for the spread on main page, but not in panel and bets went through. That is all I can say.

I wish I would have taken a screen shot, but that still would have been inconclusive

I choose not being able to get a hold of anyone at betjamaica and being paid in six hours ** instead of taking forever to be paid by betphoenix. Ya Ya I choose betjamaica I think.
