finding a local?

hello im more of a lurker here than a poster but been on here a while. im an avid sports better. but have never thought about using a local till now.
I have a question, I'm not much into the bar sene and none of my friends are into the game so im wondering, how is it to find a local bookie without asking around and looking like a noob?

Locals are like women. When you are looking they are impossible to find and everyone you do will shut you down.

As soon as you relax and stop looking it is easier to find one. Best way to get a local though, is after you have one, because then it seems like the other locals will fight to get you.

Once you find one, be honest, and bet small to start. Most of these guys are booking on air, and don't have a buck. Locals stiff players ALL THE TIME

The local sports bars are the best place to find them, but since you are not into going to one, you will find it hard to find one.
