Non-US Bettor Accessing Sportsbooks From The US?

It is physically being in the US that is the problem in legal terms (not US citizenship) and offshore books will "have a problem".

You should be fine as long as none of the sites you play at block US based IPs from accessing their site.

Most of the UK ba se ed books won'T allow you to access your account with US IP's. Some hotels may also block websites related to gambling. If you still wanna do that in the hotel, I suggest you get an air card from Verizon for less than 30 days.

You might want to look into getting a UK VPN account while you are here .. set it up on your computer .. then connect to it before you log-in at any of the UK books ... I've been using a UK VPN log-in for several months now with zero problems at any of the UK based books.

You say that now but seriuos have you tryed to cash out yet or do you think they will give you your money when you cash out, i think you might have some issues when you try and cash out dude. I dont trust those ip things to hide all of that info and the reason i say when you cash out is because when you go through to the cash out screens most places you some extra incripted software that i think picks up on that stuff, i could be wrong but thats what i heard. Honestly i hope you have no problems.
Alittle help from others would probably be best for this subject, just some facts would be great

While using a VPN in the UK, it is just like your computer is in the UK. It's not a proxy, it is what it is: a VPN - virtual private network. Many many businesses use these for employees who telecommute or go on business trips frequently. You would use the hotel's internet connection to login to the VPN, and then that's it. Anything you do from then on has no idea that you would be outside of the UK - because 100% of the internet traffic from your PC would be tunneled through the VPN. Like I said, it's pretty much the same thing as if your pc was in the UK.

Another option for you would be to install software such as gotomypc.com on your local computer in the UK, and when you get to the states, just use the gotomypc software and it will let you use your computer back home, as if you were right there. There are numerous alternatives to the gotomypc software, some of which are free.

Yeah i understand what your saying about that but do you think that these books dont have things in place to find these things and do these VPN really work especially when you cash out. That whole gotomypc will work, im asking because this is this guys money were talking about and to have it conficated because of hear say is just not right. I guess the question to ask is has anyone been able to cash out after using one of these would my next question?? Sorry im just warry as to using these kinds of things thats all.

Very interesting, JW. Going to look into securing a VPN this evening. My work has one that I use, but I don't like to use it for betting (even though it's legal here).

From an IT standpoint, I would challenge any system administrator of a website to find my local IP when connecting through a VPN. There's just no way to tell otherwise. Sure, when using proxies in your web browser, there are plenty of ways to tell that you are using a proxy. Many proxies themselves pass along information that says that they are forwarding traffic. A VPN will not show this. Any website, including sportsbooks, would only be able to see that you have logged in from a different IP than normal, but that is rather common, especially if the IP is in the same geographic region as you. They will not be able to see that you are logged into a VPN, nor that you are physically in the United States, or anywhere else for that matter. I really can't make it any simpler. When using a UK VPN, it is the same thing as your computer physically being in the UK. Nobody else would ever know the difference.

The one I use costs me around $9 US per month .... they have three or four servers and the service is stable enough/fast enough to also stream content from from the BBC/ITV/Channel 4 "on demand" servers .. so I can also keep up with my Uk soaps ...

Hmm thats really good news to here that i guess im just alittle cautious for everyone. Thats nice but what about when you loggin to a poker site there has got to be some way of them knowing since you download software and allow them admin privleges right?? They can actually go into your computer from what my understanding is and see things, So what info can you tell me about that. If you feel better about pm-ing go ahead and do so, i would love to hear more facts on this matter. But thanks for the help. Has anyone been able to use this method on poker sites (starz,tilt, Party poker, etc)and been able to cash no problems with that??

I don't have a US address .. I have a UK address .... all of my family live in the UK. (Even though i live in the US)
The accessing of the betting site is the easy part ... (but that is all the OP wanted to do if I understand correctly)

VPNs might cause problems as often the ips used are obviously vpns (eg vpn-23452345.blahblah.com), or from known vpn hosting companies. This then invites the question as to why you're using them. Books tend to check for this because bonus scammers use them.

Remote desktop to your home machine is the best option, because that appears entirely like a normal connection.

Thats what i thought but jd says he has cashed in using these methods. But i was aware that they check for these type of software.

Reporting back: my VPN won't connect (probably my fault); the hotel wireless network yesterday wouldn't load Pinnacle, but today's did and let me place my bets just fine.
