I heard the dealer of all people screaming and saw the three 7 of clubs. The player put $5 on the sidebet on blackjack and won a $1000 for that play. What a ripoff though! I just looked at Wizard of odds and that occurence has over 62000 to 1 odds! Technically he should have won over $ 300,000. I realize that there is other winning combinations when playing the sidebet but damn, $1000 seems low.

If people knew the real odds they wouldn't be playing side bets. Why should the casinos be paying better odds if people don't know the odds in the first place?

exactly. 1000 $ are fair for that hit. here we have same odds.

What other bets did/does the sidebet pay for? I'm assuming that the $5 side bet wasn't merely for 3 suited 7's.

I know that 3 red sevens or 3 black sevens are special! Can't remember what else is a winner. Oh yeah, and simply 3 sevens.

Guy should probably not have been playing that game if there are at least 3 decks
