    Bodog Credit Card Transaction Fee
    Got this email this morning

    Dear ,

Effective today, December 16th, a fee of 4.9% will be added to all credit card deposits you make to fund your Bodog account.

As a result of the challenges our industry has faced accepting payments in recent months, many of the companies who process credit card transactions have increased their costs. We tried hard not to pass this increase on to our players but our ability to absorb these fees has become too difficult and as a result we must pass some, but not all, of these fees to players who want to continue to use their credit card to deposit.

We continue to do all we can to maintain a high credit card acceptance rate and are always working to expand the number of alternative methods we offer, including those that have fewer (or no) fees. We recently launched an exclusive method, Direct Bank Transfer, which is instant and has no fees, as a result of these efforts.

We always recommend that you have more than one active method to deposit so that if your credit card fails, you can still quickly make a deposit without any delays.

If you have any questions about this change or your alternative options for depositing, please contact us.

    Regards,

A lot of books are doing it because processors are dropping like flies and this is the **/** effect. With **/** they reimburse fee's and then get them on the backend through payout. With CC's they have no way to recoup the transaction cost so they just collect it up front. I know 3 books that do this, but Bodog is the first highly rated to resort to doing this.
