False claims that books aren't paying thread
Once upon a time, this forum used to have great info on books. But these days there seem to be a lot of false claims against books; the board being used to fight a personal vendetta, rather than serve the community with helpful info. Don't get me wrong. If a book doesn't pay, we should definitely know about it. But do we really have to comb through these threads to find out if a claim is true or false? I'm not talking about borderline cases either. The only threads I want to single out are those that specifically mention, in the headline, that a book can't or won't pay, but once you read the thread that happens to be false information. So if the headline claims the book can't or won't pay, and the topic doesn't back it up, this is the place. I'm not going to sift through all the old stuff, so kicking off with just two recent examples:

    5Dimes http://forum.sbrforum.com/sportsbook...fuses-pay.html

    Betphoenix http://forum.sbrforum.com/sportsbook...-cash-out.html

5 Dimes dispute is at best amusing. It's also deceiving, because no where in the chat does Tony say 5D won't pay.

Yeah, agree that some threads are kind of misleading and funny. I always look for the book review section to see the real no-pay claims, because they are at least verified by a 3rd party. On the other hand, this forum has more freedom, just like a free society, while it is great for many things, can be taken advantage for bad things.

Mods could/should alter thread titles to more accurately reflect content.

            No they shouldnt.

Its not that big a problem. I would rather have to read a few threads with misleading titles than having them censored/altered.

Agree with OP and with changing original titles if they are misleading.

Leave the post, let the OP make his point there, just change the title.

A good point brought up by the OP, there are too many posts where posters give misleading information, or have misunderstood the particular books t & c's then get angy and give knee-jerk reaction posts, which they then fail to show accurate details about the complaint. The most obvious examples usually have the poster screaming like a wailing banshee, with a dramatic title but no substance. Dont delete the posts, just amend the title.

The books that pay the advertising fees get the best ratings. That's the truth in a nutshell.

This thread is not intended as 'Robin Hood' for the books. lol After reading and posting here for five years I can assure you that the quality of posts about books has gone way down. I'm just tired of being lied to by people posting here. That's all. In my opinion, and it's only an opinion, if any part of this forum should have credibility it is the sportsbooks section.

I agree with Dark Horse. In this forum books are being called out and held to a higher standard. Why should the posters get a free pass from being held to a higher standard? I see the cry wolf syndrome in here at times, and you can see it was because a guy didn't get his way with this book or that book, and threatened to come here since things went the wrong way with the T's and C's. That makes it hard to know what is real and what is make believe at times.
