#37I never argued that point at all, I am sure they do well on several fronts. I just think they have a right to earn is all, and the amount he is scamming them for is irrelevant to the point. I would assume I am right by thinking that way. But, let me take a new approach then. Jcurro, are you a stand up guy?Comment -

#38Originally posted by marriedtothegameOK, if you say so. I guess I should congratulate you now for your shrewdness. Heaven forbid they have a right to make a profit for providing you the service, as long as you found a way around it, it is their fault right? Good job, you should be proud of your work and effort.
There's nothing to congratulate or feel proud about. There's no need for all these drama neither! Its just a bet!!
A way around it???? I think you don't understand this issue, its only a bet with better juice... (like 1 buck for each bet) they still made a profit from my looses.
So save your irony, there's no work and effort in making a bet!!! I'm very far from considering me a professional player, you should probably laugh if you found out the wagers for which they temp closed my account (4 bets of 5usd for example).
I started this thread just because I received a notification that my account was closed and I freaked out since its the first time that happened to me, and customer service took like 10 mins to answer me.Comment -

Anyway, let me just tell you that for me betting its just a game. I'm not trying to become millionaire or make a living out of it. I bet just for the fun of it and I just go around chasing bonus and ways to make my money last longer. Since I started about a year and a half ago, I have lost all that I've "invested" several times and tried out almost any sportsbook as long as they give me a bonus.
So I landed on a sportsbook named betonline247, few days later the 20 that I deposited turned into 400 and I don't remember why exactly but I thought that they were a scam so I started doing some research and discovered this forum. Long story short, it took dozens of mails and about three months to cash out the money. In the process they wrong settled a bet in my favor and I told them, I was surprised to receive a mail in which they said that I could keep the money (I lost it a couple of minutes later lol).
Then I tried bodog, the real betonline, willhill and managed to complete rollovers with a small profit. In the process I discovered pinnacle which is by far the best sportbook. So it was my turn for legends and lost almost all of my winnings and the welcome bonus (200) in less than a week. So I discovered that I could get a reup of 40%, so I deposited 500 in order to recover the 200 that I lost. After I did the reup I came to realize that legends has too few markets and almost no soccer which is the sport that I mostly like to bet. However I have to complete a 3500 rollover. Big question then... why bet 20 on legends and gain 5, if in pinnacle I bet the same market, the same 20 and gain 6? Answer: to complete the rollover.... then by accident I discovered that if I bet 10 I could win 3, and if I did it two times I could win the same 6 that on the other sportsbook. Problem solved then...
The rest of the story you all know it...
Why I told this story?
First, I needed an excuse to tell in this forum what betonline247 did for me. Of course I am not going to bet another dollar with them, because I think they are a crappy sportsbook and took like a month to complete each of the 3 withdrawals that I made. But I don't think of them as a scam as most on this forum think.
Second, I don't like myself being told a thief, specially when I think that what I did was not wrong. (I think I've explained myself enough throughout this thread)
Third, and maybe the most important one, continuing this thread gives me my 12 daily points which will accumulate in order to eventually change them for free bets.
That's the way that I carry myself then in my betting deals...Comment -

#43You are the only judge of that. You have to look at yourself in the mirror to get the truth. Everyone else will just see you for the image you sell. The proof is usually in the details. Stealing $10 or $100,000 is still stealing and demonstrates your intent, and the difference between the amounts probably has to do more with your logistical barriers. I will drop this now.Comment -

#47you can always just structure the wagers so the payout always rounds up, without resorting to typing in a zillion $5 wagers for each bet. This gives you some reduced juice, but doesn't eliminate it completely. I did it for years with no problems, although I haven't played there recently. You can use the system, just don't abuse the system if you want to keep them as an out.Comment -

#50You don't need to keep exagerating what the guy said he did. Where does he ever talk about 10 bets to make up $50?? Unless you think calling the guy out as some sort of scumbag thief is actually a bit harsh based on the actual facts he has given.
You want your cake and eat it too Married.
The book offers a product with conditions that they don't wish to honor. They are in the wrong and no doubt know it if they monitor the situation so closely to pick up a guy making $20 bets. But you want to label the customer a thief for using the system as provided and rant on about him not wanting them to make money bullshit bullshit bullshit... (An attitude the book has not taken with him btw)
If you are a customer on Amazon and realize ordering your books seperately from your DVDs gives you a lower shipping charge for the same service, would you consider yourself a thief for using the provided system that way?
If not, I cannot see how you can justify the venom you are throwing at this guy.
Personally I think it's shameful the way so many US bettors have buckled over to your sort of attitude. You may be forced to use these offshore books with their "customer is always wrong" attitudes, but standing up and defending it as anything close to fair or reasonable business practice in the real world is laughable. Pathetic even. American's aren't usually famous for rolling over and taking a stick up the ass willingly..Comment -

#51Originally posted by marriedtothegameHow about he just acts like a man and makes a $50 bet and pay the juice instead of making 10 $5 bets to avoid the juice. In this case the customer is wrong. Your Euro brother making a scumbag move over $5 in juice says it all. Obviously in line with the actions of a stand up and credible guy.
Here's what I have taken from the posts:
1) He chops up a few bets in order to get a round down on the juice.
2) Books no doubt get a juice benefit from others who may make straight bets that round up. Certainly there are folks that do this out there, by simply not knowing or perhaps because it unfortunately falls in line with the amount they have chosen as their unit.
Nowhere does he quantify the bets he makes but one could discern two from his chopping a $20 wager into two $10 wagers. Perhaps it is three or four. If one calls him a thief then by definition they have also called the book a thief vis a vis case "2)".Comment -

#52Call it a hunch and I could be wrong but I assume a book doesn't shut you down for making two bets instead of one. There has to be a blatant pattern. I don't think what I am saying is venom though. I think he took a shot, thats my opinion. If the book took a shot at him, I would say the same about the book. It just is what it is. He was the one who admitted he was doing it with that intention anyways.Comment -

My opinion is that the entire concept of a customer "taking a shot" at a book is made up for, and only exists in, the offshore bookmaking industry.
The book is the business offering the service. They have 100% control over the conditions and system operation. The customer has zero control. There is no way a customer can "take a shot" unless the book has made an error or has a flaw in it's own system. In every single case you can imagine the book is always at fault.
They should act similar to how Legends did here. Treat the customer with respect, explain the problem and offer an apology for the inconvenience. End of story. There is zero justification for calling the customer a thief or cheat or anything else.
Not only could a book not act like the customer is wrong in this situation in a regulated marketplace, none of these guys could survive with all the errors they make and the flaws in their systems. Regulators would be all over them until they fixed it or shut down, or simply honored the terms they took the customers money under..Comment -

They have too few markets, specially in soccer.
Just one tip, thanks to their shitty software sometimes you'll be betting a 100 and winning 20, try it out and maybe bettting 90 you'll win the same 20. Although some people in this forum may say you are a thief for doing that.Comment -

#58Originally posted by OptionalOf course he admitted to the intention. Anyone with half a brain and a winning attitude would have thought about the system offered and used it to best advantage. Why is that so strange or wrong in your mind? How is this different from the Amazon situation I mentioned?

yep, you're right, never mind. I didn't realize we're literally talking about $20 bets being split into 2 or 4 wagers.
One of those other donk books with stone-age era software that can't track cents had this come up many years ago. Maybe intertops before they changed the software? I think they actually went in & increased the min wager to $6 from $5 for everyone to prevent the people that use their brains from wagering juice free....Comment -
