I’ve never done a withdrawal from Sportbet. I called today for my first one, and these guys make Bookmaker seem generous on the fees.
I’m trying to take out $3,700. The woman I spoke with told me there are three options. Western Union is $200. Moneygram is more than $200 (she didn’t specify exactly how more). Fed Ex is $130. Furthermore, she strongly recommended Western Union, on the grounds that Fed Ex “has been taking a long time.” When I asked how long, she was vague but just indicated they were in the midst of some kind of indefinite delay, so really that would be an unwise method to choose. (I also asked about book-to-book transfers, but I was unable to make her understand what that even is, so evidently they don’t do those with anyone.)
So basically $200 to get my money. I’m usually pretty good about timing my sportsbook withdrawals around monthly freebies, or getting regular mail or whatever is the cheapest option, so I’m used to 80% or more of my withdrawals being free. And I don’t know that I’ve ever paid more than $50 or so for any of the other 20%.
Has anyone found some other way of getting money from Sportbet that she didn’t mention? Or have you had to pay similar fees? I’m holding off on the withdrawal on the remote chance I figure out some way to avoid a $200 hit.
