    Bodog Becky Please Explain...............
Please explain WHY WHY WHY Bodog does not put up lines even less than 2 hours before a game is to start????

It is now 10:20am EST on Sat Oct 9/10. I goto Bodog to place a net on the BOSTON - Phoenix NHL game which it to start at 12:05 pm EST on Sat Oct 9/10 which is about 1 hour 45 min away and still there are no lines posted. There are no lines for any NHL game for Saturday. Every other book has them.

Do you realize you are turning away money and losing customers????

Please explain the reasoning behind this, I'm curious

Becky can't come to this thread right now. She says that Bodog doesn't put up their lines early because they need them hammered into place so profit opportunity does not exist for players.

    Thanks for your question.

If a game is starting soon, you might try calling or live chatting to ask what is going on. This has happen to me at a few books in the past and most of the time they will take the bet over the phone.

I spoke directly with the bookmakers and here is what they said:

"This was the first game of the season for both teams and was held in Prague as a part of the NHL Premiere weekend -- given the uncertainty of the game (two fresh teams in a foreign rink) we weren't comfortable posting the line until just before 11 AM ET, our listed post time. Moving forward, please know that for these early NHL games our official post time is one hour prior to the game, but lines may be available earlier depending on the situation".

        Thanks,
        Becky

omg bodog to consider as the no. 1 for recreational players... bodog has voided a winning bet from a friend and not to pay the winnings but instead to give a $50 free play... 6 months later he was kicked out from bodog.... from $1,4k to $50 ??

That doesn't mean anything without us knowing why it was voided. Was it a bad line? If so the $50 is more than he could expect..

Except that bodog lines offer plenty of profit opportunity.

Sad that they have to do this, considering they alrdy give their many square players rip-off dual lines.
As if it matters if a handful sharps like Durito get good lines, when 10x more clueless ppl take the other side...

I was talking about getting a shot at the opening line. Not overcharging squares for favorites.

I thought $500 limits protect you? Now you need to post lines at faceoff too? Ridiculous.

Those hockey rinks in Prague must be very different than in the US.

Exactly, lets post a line 10 seconds before the game starts, that way we wont get beat, because we dont know what we are doing.

It also means they get no action or very little.

The two other books I checked had this game, only bodog did not.

But a second question arises, how closely do they follow Vegas's line. Vegas would be the best indicator of a bad line, and would be the first to adjust it. And this is not a prop, where a error might be more likely to be made, its just a regular line for a hockey game.

I would like Becky to confirm or deny whether Bodog actually deals dual lines. Their CS reps tell me no.

This book is pathetic, why anyone would deposit here is beyond me. Of course they deal dual lines, but good luck getting them to admit it.
