Why can't live support answer a simple question?

    Why can't live support answer a simple question?
    I go to live support, and I just ask a simple question on to use a certain function on the site, and the tech support guy asks for my account number and then makes me wait over 5 minutes minutes. Then finally he transfers me to someone else.

    I guess he wants to make sure I'm not a terrorist before he answers my question.

      I would specify the book, but it doesn't really matter. This has happened to me with multiple books.

      I'm not asking account-specific questions, but they always make me give them my account number and wait a few minutes before they'll tell me anything.
