    BetEd Bonus Warning
Just wanted to put out a bit of information about BetEd. Got offered a reload of $400 on a $1k deposit for the start of the NFL season. Was a net loser at the book already if that matters.

Stuck in the $1,000, received the bonus, started betting. Rollover was $9,800. Got through just under 50% of it betting predominantly MLB lines spread over a few days, placing $500 on each (major mistake). Logged in one evening to find a message saying that my account was now limited to $1 wagers. Wasn't hitting their out of line odds, so was only the bet sizes that triggered this (I think).

Ended up with them telling me they had a procedure for this (suggesting that limiting mid-roll is quite common for them - why offer bonuses then?) which resulted in winnings being removed along with the whole bonus. They paid back my remaining balance, and I decided to get in touch with SBR. Justin helped me out on this, and the result was that BetEd admitted they were wrong in removing the winnings and the whole bonus. When I initially asked them to re-credit, they said no, SBR asks and they re-credited quickly! And waived a withdrawal fee.

So, in summary, if you claim bonuses, might be best to either not claim them at BetEd, or if you do, keep the bet sizes small.

Finally, thanks must go to Justin for his work on this and getting this situation to a fair conclusion.

This is nothing new for BETED

If you had done a little research on here before depositing you would have known better!

Ok, let me put it this way:

BetED is a bookmaker from Costa Rica. They target American bettors and markets mainly. They offer some very nice bonuses and some very soft lines. Unfortunately, when they spot you, they impose ridiculous limits, so you will not be able to finish with the roll over requirements, and your funds will be trapped. Unless there is a very specific reason, I wouldn’t play there. There are also many complaints about slow pays. Treat carefully.

I was limited to $1 limits earlier this year. But I have not found payout speed to be a problem. I was paid promptly each time including the last one when I cleared out the account.

still, let's give them credit for working with SBR.

nevertheless, i will not be depositing there.

In hindsight, yes I clearly should have researched them more before sticking $1K in. Still I know now to stick with a couple of books that I trust and are well regarded.

I just don't understand why books don't limit wagers to what they are comfortable in taking. If $500 bets are too much for them, then lower the limits beforehand. I just don't understand why a book would pull this crap, instead of having lower limits to begin with, and avoiding the negative publicity.

I would think shitty books like BetEd assume that when they pull their crap, people will just complain but eventually go away. So it's good when it's made public, like "ah81" has done. Then again, BetEd could care less I assume. They'll just keep offering their bonuses, attract new blood, and shit all over them as well eventually.....

I didn't like Beted when I played but could see why some people like to call it home.

                              What reason would that be?
