bookmaker.com has some shady practices regarding freeplays
So here's the story. I got an email promoting one of bookmaker's promotions. They offer 3 options: pick25, pick50 and pick100...each one offers a different % bonus with different rollovers. I knew I had used at least one of them and that it was a one time deal (i.e. if you've used the pick100 already, you can still use the pick50 or pick25, but not the pick100 again), but couldn't remember which one (or more) that I had used, or if I had used it at bookmaker, DSI, or if it had been another book (I like to take advantage of these bonuses by making small deposits and usually meet the rollover req pretty quickly). Anyway, I was chatting with their online support to try to figure out which ones I had available to me. Here's how the chat went. Let me know what you think:

    General Info
Chat start time Sep 12, 2010 7:07:10 AM EST Chat end time Sep 12, 2010 7:43:47 AM EST Duration (actual chatting time) 00:36:37 Operator CS - Marvin Chat Transcript
info: Please wait for a site operator to respond.
info: You are now chatting with 'CS - Marvin'
CS - Marvin: Welcome, nice to have you with us today . . . I’m happy to assist you . . .
you: hi, i received an email saying i can get a bonus, either the pick25, pick50 or pick100
you: may i still get this even if i've used them in the past?
you: and if not, why would i have received an email advertising the fact that i could
CS - Marvin: Those bonuses are a one time deal.
you: can you verify if i'm eligible for any of them?
you: i don't know if i've used all of them
    you: ??
CS - Marvin: To assist you as efficiently as possible, may I have your account number please?
    you: ********
    you: ********
you: if i make a deposit right now am i eligible for the bonus
CS - Marvin: Yes, you are entitled for those bonuses.
    you: which
    you: or all of them?
CS - Marvin: Yes, you can use them all one time each.
you: but i know that i've used one of them at least once
you: so i'm asking which ones i can use?
CS - Marvin: You can use the Pick25, Pick50, and Pick100
you: so i can use the pick100 again even though i've used it for another deposit?
CS - Marvin: I am looking at your account and so far you have not used it yet.
CS - Marvin: This promotion has been on the air since August 2010
CS - Marvin: According to your account records, your last bonus received was on February 2010
you: okay, i just made a deposit and i'm requesting the pick100
CS - Marvin: One moment please.
CS - Marvin: According to the bonus rules, the minimum qualifying deposit is $100.00
    you: thats what i deposited
CS - Marvin: Your last deposit is for $50.00
you: i made one a minute ago
    you: for 100.00
you: it says it's available for me to use
CS - Marvin: I must apologize, but I can see that you already used that promotion once.
you: why couldn't you see that 2 minutes ago?
CS - Marvin: May be I got the wrong account.
you: can you reverse my last deposit?
you: are you able to reverse the last deposit?
CS - Marvin: I am affraid we can not do that.
CS - Marvin: I am very sorry
you: well, what you just did was incredibly deceiving, and i believe it was intentional
CS - Marvin: I can offer you our re-up promotion wich would be 15%
you: i'm saving this chat log, and will never make another deposit again
CS - Marvin: Let me see if there is anything I can do to make this up.
you: had you simply told me right off the bat that i wasn't eligible for it then i would have deposited and not received a bonus
you: but you told me i was eligible, even when i specifically asked several times
you: waited for me to make the deposit
you: and then told me i wasn't
CS - Marvin: I understand that sir.
CS - Marvin: Let me see what can I do about this.
    you: thank you
you: you should understand that i (like many of your clients, i'm sure), use several different sites for my gaming action, all of which offer similar promotions, making it difficult for me to keep track of which bonuses i've received
you: and i base where my next deposit will be based on things like the odds offered and the bonuses available
you: if i log on and ask you what bonuses are available, i would expect that the info you give me is accurate
you: and i honestly believe that this was a ploy to get me to deposit with this site, and i don't tolerate ploys of this sort.
CS - Marvin: I was checking this out with my manager and unfortunately we found how this already happened to you once in the past and that day you received a 25% bonus.
CS - Marvin: What we can offer you in this moment is 10% reload bonus.
you: so let me ask you this...if this has happened to me before, whose fault is it? mine or yours?
    you: you being the company
you: how is it possible that 2 separate agents failed to see that i used the bonus until after the deposit was made
CS - Marvin: I am sorry for the inconvenience, it came up as a simple mistake that happened while suffering a freeze on the system.
you: like i said earlier, had you just told me i wasn't eligible for any i most likely still would have deposited here, but i honestly believe i'm being duped here
CS - Marvin: I apologize for the inconvenience, but all I can do at this time is what my manager approved and it was a 10% reload bonus
you: well earlier in our chat it was a 15% bonus
    you: so which is it?
CS - Marvin: Like I said, 10% is what my manager approved.
CS - Marvin: which is the regular promotion we are running at this time.
you: CS - Marvin: I can offer you our re-up promotion wich would be 15%
you: please refer to earlier in the chat
CS - Marvin: I am aware of that.
you: i'm not going to sit here and argue with this

I ended up taking the 10% bonus, but my next cashout at bookmaker may be my last transaction with them. Like I say in the chat, had the agent simply said "you've used all of the bonuses, sorry" that would have been fine. But he didn't. He told me I had all 3 bonuses available, waited for me to deposit, then told me his prior information was not accurate. Am I in the wrong here for failing to keep track of the bonuses I've received, or are they wrong? Honestly, the small freeplay amount really wasn't a big deal to me, it's the principle of the situation.

You knew you had used the pick100.

But you kept lying to the operator saying I don't know which one I used!

Gamblers dont forget what Bonus they used.

orangeman, you are clearly a bonus whore and you knew full well that you used the pick100.

The operator at Bookmaker tried to be fair but you wouldn't have any of it.

I see you are depositing "flea" amounts of $50 and $100 at a time, trying to suck up as many bonuses as you can and have an "attitude" to boot.

I can tell you one thing with 100% certainty:

Bookmaker is not going to lose any sleep at the loss of your business and one would think they would be happy to be rid of you.

well, I came here looking for an objective third party opinion, aaaand I guess I got it. Anyway, just to clarify, I knew that I had used the bonus at either bookmaker or 2betdsi, but was not sure which one, which is why i was asking the agent. I was pretty frustrated after I made the deposit into the wrong book and couldn't get the bonus, which is why I took a nasty tone with the guy. Again, it was more about the principle of what the guy did than the fact that I couldn't play with the bonus, but I'm over it now...I suppose there's worse things they could be doing (like not paying out, which in my experience hasn't been a problem).

All I know is Bookmaker hides it's T&C's on this and buries them in fine print behind a link you can barely see under the promo.

I'm not saying this poster is a bonus whore or not, because I don't know. All I know is the I deposited $50.00 last week and was curious where my bonus was because first time around I didn't see any terms to them. Well I found them the second time around while I online to cs on chat asking about the bonus (that's where I found the obscure $100.00 deposit rule.)

I didn't care, because I don't play for bonuses, but I'll take them when their there.. However, I will say that bookmaker is very sneaky about posting the terms to these.

It through me off for a second

So what if the OP is a bonus whore? If he wants to get bonuses and cashout then God bless him.

At the same time, like someone else said, BM will not lose any sleep if he decides to take his business elsewhere.

You should have reacted when he said that you received your last bonus in february.

Just don't bet integers and bet halves (ei. 6.5, 7.5,8.5), so you don't have to worry about getting screwed on pushes. I agree, they shouldn't be so nit picky, but you can get around this one easily enough.
