Who makes the lines and how?

I would really like to get some information on how lines are made and what kind of background these guys have.

They make them like you would think they do and adjust based on money for each side. Each book has its own slant.

Pinnacle for example often made their lines using the BetFair lines.

Sometimes you can find a notice at pinnacle "check betfair"

Also pinnacle is a high roller at betfair if they are in trouble

Basically UK books make a line. Then betfair starts taking liquidity. The accountants at UK books then see their odds are higher, shit themselves and slash the odds. Meanwhile, limit anyone who had the cheek to bet on them before they noticed.
